My grandfather told me that Qianjiang used to be a small town. The streets in the county are gravel and dirt roads with potholes. On a sunny day, the dust is flying; on a rainy day, it is muddy and difficult to travel, making transportation very inconvenient. People ate seasonal vegetables and wore uniformly colored clothes, some even patched. A television is a luxury product, and having a tape recorder is already very enviable. In fact, the most unforgivable thing was the smelly central vegetable market, which was the only large-scale trading place in the county. However, trading here is like suffering. Because there is a big smelly ditch next to the market. The water in the ditch was filthy, with all kinds of garbage and animal carcasses floating on the water. It smelled rancid... It's really disgusting to think about the past.

The crowds in the supermarket are very lively. The biggest change is in the commercial pedestrian street. This is a community integrating living, entertainment and shopping. The small area is unique. The buildings in Qianjiang, my hometown, have replaced the low and old bungalows in the past. New and unique buildings are arranged in an orderly manner. Green grass and blooming flowers are everywhere in the community. Pavilions, rockeries, fountains, small pools... make the community look like a fairyland. Even the birds were attracted. They sang happily over the community, adding a harmonious and joyful atmosphere to the community. I love my hometown Qianjiang.
In fact, the most noteworthy thing is the Cao Yu Memorial Hall located outside the north gate. Here, the life introduction and works of Mr. Cao Yu, a leading literary figure, are displayed. It is a must-visit place for people to pay their respects to the old man. Nanmenhe Garden Plaza is the first choice for people after dinner. Whenever the lanterns first come on, the colorful lights in the square light up, making the square look like daylight. People came from all over. The square became lively. There are fitness dancers, roller skating, and... children are chasing and playing on the lawn, which adds to the joyful atmosphere.
