This is a question about blood pressure. Let's start with the diagnostic criteria for hypertension, i.e., without antihypertensive medication, three office visits on a non-same day with blood pressure higher than normal, i.e., systolic (high pressure) ?140mmHg and/or diastolic (low pressure) ?90mmHg. Home self-measurement of blood pressure, systolic (high pressure) ?135mmHg and/or diastolic (low pressure) ?85mmHg is sufficient to diagnose high blood pressure. Note: Refer to the ISH2020 International Practice Guidelines for Hypertension
As you can see, there are a lot of restrictions, such as without medication, three measurements on non-same day, etc. In addition, there are many other conditions that are not specified in detail, such as measuring in a quiet state, and do not drink beverages such as strong tea, coffee, or alcohol before measurement, because all these factors can affect blood pressure.
If the blood pressure rises only once in a while, there is no need to worry, it is a normal phenomenon. Exercise, staying up late, stress, eating and other factors may raise blood pressure.
If you measure your blood pressure in a scientific way and all three measurements are taken on a different day, then this blood pressure is abnormal and can be diagnosed as hypertension.
What should be done? Do I need to take antihypertensive drugs? This depends on your specific health condition.
Based on the blood pressure grading scale, we can see that your blood pressure belongs to grade 1 hypertension, which is mild hypertension. If your blood pressure is simply elevated, and you do not have other diseases such as diabetes or coronary heart disease, you can take lifestyle interventions for a period of time without medication. After about 3 months, if your blood pressure drops to 140/90mmHg, there is no need to take medication, and you can continue to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
The lifestyle to lower blood pressure includes:
1, light diet: low salt, low fat, low calorie diet, that is, less salt and oil in cooking, less pickled food and fried food, less fat meat, more fresh fruits and vegetables, eat some coarse grains, increase the intake of milk, soybean products and other foods to supplement high-quality protein.
2, appropriate exercise: exercise is conducive to reducing blood pressure, but exercise should be persistent, not three days fish two days sun net, and should be gradual, do not overdo it. Aerobic exercise is the main, 4 to 6 times a week, each exercise more than 30 minutes, exercise can be selected according to their own preferences, such as jogging, brisk walking, square dancing, cycling and so on.
3, other ways: In addition to diet and exercise, you also need to do a regular work and rest, do not stay up late, and develop a good habit of lunch breaks, lunch breaks in 30 minutes is appropriate. It is best to quit smoking and drinking, and if you can't do that, you should limit the amount of alcohol you drink, and you should definitely quit smoking. If you are overweight, you should lose weight in a scientific way.
If your blood pressure doesn't drop significantly through the above methods, you need to take medication under your doctor's guidance, because long-term elevated blood pressure can affect target organs such as the heart, brain, and kidneys, and cause complications. In addition, if you yourself combined with diabetes, coronary heart disease, angina pectoris, heart attack and other diseases, you also need to take antihypertensive drugs under the guidance of a doctor.
