Seeking the most complete shopping guide for Japan!!!!

Tokyo is undoubtedly the best place for blood shoppers. Although Japan is not yet open to Chinese tourists for free travel, many travel agencies can flexibly arrange the itinerary of Tokyo alone, and 4 people can form a group. Although you are on a group tourist visa, you are relatively free to arrange activities other than sightseeing according to your taste, time and stamina. According to most Chinese tourists' itineraries, we recommend five of the most distinctive shopping and leisure routes, which can be reached by subway, so that you can buy enough, see enough, and more importantly, experience the real taste of life in Tokyo.

First stop: Shinjuku

Characteristics: large malls, flagship stores are highly concentrated

Suitable for the crowd: shopaholics

Stroll index: ★★★★★

It goes without saying that when you come to Tokyo, you have to shop in Shinjuku. This place can satisfy all your imagination of Tokyo, dazzling billboards, tempting stores, all kinds of hipsters, this is the Tokyo that makes many people lost. In fact, the movie "Lost in Tokyo" was filmed here (at the crosswalk outside the south exit of Shinjuku Station). Tokyoites often meet here at the south exit of Shinjuku Station, which is the busiest spot in the city, and it's a heavenly place to walk in any direction from here.

You can think of Shinjuku as a giant shopping mall flattened out, and as Tokyo's busiest commercial center, it's got everything you could want: for old-school malls, there's Isetan, Takashimaya Times Square, and Mitsukoshi Department Store; for the source of Tokyo's trends, you'll want to check out 0101, Lumine, and Mylord; and for the power of local design, Beams, Beams, Lumine, and Mylord, you'll want to visit the most popular shopping malls in Tokyo. Beams and CommeCaStore flagship stores, which are homegrown design powerhouses in Japan. In addition to these, Risa also led us exclusively to two special shopping places: a whole underground affordable shopping mall, where the price of a single item is as low as 100 RMB; and a mosaic path near the south exit, full of small personalized stores.

MITSUKOSHI MITSUKOSHI Department Store is the most recent Shin Kong Place to open in Beijing, which is a MITSUKOSHI department store. The three floors below the ground level are filled with local brands, from shoes and hats to accessories and groceries, all of which are well-made. Remember, when you get to Mitsukoshi, shop down.

Hours 11:00~21:00

Address 3-29-1 Shinjuku (there are several other branches in Tokyo)

Tips:

How do you not get lost?

It's important to note that it's quite difficult to make Shinjuku your first stop on a tour of Tokyo. Shinjuku station is a huge, immense maze of over 20 exits! Even if you manage to feel your way out of the ground, the two 0101 malls, three Lumine, and the densely packed malls (and the one with the same name) can make it difficult to orient yourself. So be sure to use Shinjuku Station as the starting point of your coordinate system, and make a note of which exit each mall takes, and in which direction of the station it's located. Once you've got Shinjuku down, shopping the rest of the city will be a breeze.

Second stop: Kichijoji

Featured: Park walking paths to browse small stores

Suitable for people: Literary and artistic young people

Stroll index: ★★★★★

Kichijoji is a center of life in the northwestern suburb of Tokyo, in a location roughly equivalent to the fifth ring road in Beijing. Like Shinjuku and Shibuya, it's full of chain malls and specialty stores, and is large enough to provide convenience for the neighborhood's middle-class residents. Housing prices in the city are expensive, with an average square meter costing 40,000 RMB, so living in a spacious apartment comes at a staggering price. So many middle-class families choose to buy land in the suburbs, build their own homes, and commute to work by subway every day. Since Tokyo has a very well-developed rail transit system, with large transit hubs including commercial facilities located a few blocks away from residential areas, it's easy to live and work in the city.

On weekends, Tokyoites who live in the neighborhood often come to Kichijoji, sometimes to shop, more often to take a walk. There is an Inokashira-en Park, and every weekend there is an art market, ArtMarket, where you can see painters, singers, and zither players, all ordinary Tokyoites but performing with a very professional level of dedication. Come here to listen to music, a little drink, a little wind, life is beautiful.

Recommended routes

Morning: Kichijoji shopping small stores, see the park art market

Afternoon: to Shinjuku shopping, and in the evening you can climb the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Offices, free to see the night view

Comparatively speaking, the Kichijoji Temple is relatively far from the center of the city, and in the Tokyo Metro map has not been able to see, for the first time to Tokyo, time is limited to the tourists, it is not worth it! It's not worth a special trip for first-time visitors with limited time. But it's a short ride from Shinjuku, about 20 minutes on the JR Chuo Line. It's a great way to see a different side of Tokyo than the fast-paced commercial areas of the city, and it's a great way to combine a visit to Shinjuku with a trip to the city.

Tips:

Go shopping in a relaxed manner!

Shopping is great, but carrying bags is not. And as your war chest grows, so does the pressure. The detail-oriented Japanese have set up coin lockers at every station exit and near shopping malls, so you can save the fruits of your victory in stages of battle. The cheapest locker is about 18 yuan (300 yen), which is no problem for a normal backpack; the largest is about 42 yuan (700 yen), which can hold a trolley suitcase. After the coin can only be used once, time is not limited, once opened on the invalid, to use again to vote.

OHARASHOTEN Ohara Store

Featured This small store specializes in Japanese-style homewear and small crafts, which is great for buying gifts for friends and family. However, the quality of the clothes varies, so you need to have a good eye to get the best value for your money. There are many choices in the crafts category, and the styles and workmanship are good.

Third stop: Shibuya Shibuya

Features: Small shopping malls selling Young people stuff

Suitable for people: boys and girls

Stroll index: ★★★★

How can you miss Shibuya when you are in Tokyo? Even in Japan, Shibuya is synonymous with "popular". The way a girl dresses on the streets of Shibuya is photographed and printed in magazines, and becomes a national or even Asian fashion trend. The shopping malls here are less overbearing than those in Shinjuku, and the youthful atmosphere makes them a must-see for Tokyo's teenage boys and girls. In addition to trendy clothing, you can often find fresh gadgets. For tourists, the quirky newcomers are also a big attraction, and there are plenty of short-skirted schoolgirls and bronze-skinned "chocoholics" that you often see in magazines.

There are not many big brands in Shibuya, and even if there are international brands, they are McQ, miumiu, and Diesel for young people, but there are more local Japanese fashion brands, which are very popular but much cheaper than the big brands. The best places to shop are concentrated in shopping malls such as Shibuya 109 and Parco, where the buildings are full of youthful and popular clothing and accessories, and shopaholics dive headfirst into them as if they've stumbled into the treasures of Alibaba by mistake. Some people may not be able to accept the Japanese hot girl (cool) dress, in fact, you do not have to copy the whole line, just a small suspenders, a belt or a bag, you can achieve the effect of eye-catching.

Going out from Shibuya Station, most of the malls are within sight. Walking further around the area, you find a lot of hills up and down, creating several twisty and wonderful paths, just one, but each with its own flavor. For example, Bunkamura-dori, at the end of which is the famous Tokyu Bunka-mura, where the Tokyo Film Festival is held every year, and the exotic Spanish Saka, which has not only cafes and restaurants, but also a lot of small stores selling small things at affordable prices, which is well worth a visit.

Recommended Itinerary

Morning: Shopping in Shinjuku and getting lost in Tokyo

Afternoon: Shibuya and seeing the beautiful people

If it's your first time in Tokyo and you only have one day of free time, you'll want to see the best of both worlds, Shinjuku and Shibuya. But it is hard to choose between these two places, Shinjuku has more big department stores, mainly for clothing; Shibuya is more suitable for young people, in addition to trendy clothing, there are also a lot of design lifestyle products, you can see your own needs to adjust the duration of stay in the two places.

Tips:

When is the best time to go to Japan?

The best time is, of course, the annual discount seasons in January and July, which start out at 70% and 20% off still on the end, and get more and more intimidating as you go along. During our interview, we were at the end of the seasonal discounts, and a dress that cost more than 1,000 yuan became 300 yuan after 30% discount, so you can't resist the thrill of shopping at a great value.

Recommended Shibuya shops

Shibuya Shibuya 109

Featured It has been said that the 109 building is the spirit of Shibuya. It is the building that constantly provides Tokyo with the raw materials for trends and attracts countless newcomers to make the pilgrimage. In this building, which has a total of 10 floors*** (including two underground floors), all floors, except for the restaurant on the topmost floor, are crowded with small stores selling a wide variety of trendy clothing*** with more than 100 brands, each with a different look. Now, this round building has become a Shibuya landmark. It's the best place to get seasonal fashion items, such as this year's popular pony jackets, which are only available in two or three styles at malls in China, but there are rows and rows of them here for you to choose from. But it's a bit more expensive, at around 500 yuan a piece.

ShibuyaParco Trend Clothing Hall

The ShibuyaParco Trend Clothing Hall is the place to go when you're done shopping in Shibuya.

Featured After you've finished shopping at Shibuya 109, even if you're tired and have a lot of stuff to carry, make sure you stop by Parco. The brands here are a bit more upscale than 109, such as miumiu and McQ, but also include some of Japan's local up-and-coming design brands. Parco is very clever in the sales tactics, such as the once sensational "clothes over the scale sale", which has caused a very good "eyeball effect". It's also very close to NHK. The proximity to NHK and the mall's special radio studios, as well as the fact that the mall often hosts live concerts and movie launches by celebrities, have kept the mall popular. It's no wonder that Parco has now grown to three branches in Shibuya.

Fourth stop: Shimokitazawa Shimokitazawa

Characteristics: A base for young punks and a paradise for vintage goods

Suitable for people who are buyers of character

Walking index: ★★★★

Shimokitazawa is also known as Shimokitazawa, and it is a place known only to local students. I'm not sure if you're going to be able to find your way around the city. Once you leave the station, you don't even need to ask for directions, just follow those schoolgirls in short skirts and you're sure to find it. Its full name is "Shimokita Minamiguchi Shotengai", and it is located on several streets from the south exit of the station. At first glance, there are a lot of small stores selling a variety of things. There's a ramen store next to a clothing store, and a coffee shop next to a second-hand manga bookstore, so it's a bit cluttered. But this is also closer to the real life of young people in Tokyo, full of the atmosphere of the city. Because it's located in an old neighborhood, land prices are relatively low, so it's slowly building up a number of small stores that do some affordable business.

People often compare Shimokitazawa to Takeshita-dori in Harajuku, the place where magazines feature "lolita", "cosplay", and "goths". The latter is where the "lolita," "cosplay," and "goth" magazines hang out. Shimokitazawa is also a stronghold for Tokyo's alternative youth, especially underground bands, which have created a "Shimokitazawa" neighborhood alongside Shibuya and Shinjuku. On weekends, there are many street performances. Don't underestimate the creativity of the street performers here. For example, "manga reading", which has been labeled as an art form, was first created by a performer who read manga while playing the guitar in the streets of Shimokitazawa. It's a kind of grassroots entertainment, like storytelling, that was tapped into by a local radio station and became an "art form".

The street style and decadent clothing favored by punk youths is also common here, with Freitag bags, Havaianas flip-flops, and Crocs sandals, basically anything that's trendy and casual. What makes this place famous in Tokyo is also vintage, or second-hand, clothing. Punks seem to prefer to pay for the clichés.

Recommended Itinerary

Morning: shopping spree in Shibuya, stocking up on bags

Afternoon: skimming around Shimokita, bargain-hunting in small stores Shimokita is closer to Shibuya, making it suitable for stringing together a line.

You can leave more time for Shibuya, buy enough, and then go to Shimokita in the evening, and turn around just in time for dinner. You can get there directly from Shibuya by taking the OdakyuLine, but you have to take it out of Shibuya Station as the OdakyuLine is a private railroad and is not located in the same gates as the other subway lines.

0101 OUTLETS

Featured In the dictionary of shopaholics, "outlets" is equivalent to "go for it". In the dictionary of shopaholics, "outlets" means "go for it", not to mention the famous 0101 department store. There are men's clothing, women's clothing and shoes, most of which are out-of-season and sold at less than 50% off the regular price, with individual items costing a couple hundred dollars each. Unfortunately, the mall is a bit small, so there's not much to choose from, and it's a matter of luck whether you find the right one.

BEAUX-ARTS

Featured The front of the store reads, "We sell tasteful living," but it's actually a grocery store. The store has the same products as other grocery stores, but also has some unique items, especially smoking accessories, which are worth your time to pick up. Since it's labeled as a "lifestyle store," it's different from other stores, and there's a small box next to the cash register that says it's for donations to the Niigata area, which was hit by the recent earthquake, which gives you a sudden feeling of warmth in the world of merchandise.

Fifth stop: Daikanyama Daikanyama

Featured: Affluent neighborhood, local design brand stores

Suitable for: Tasteful buyers

Rampage index: ★★★

In this super shopping paradise of Tokyo, one is faced with too many choices, and if you can't hold on, you'll collapse - either buy crazy, or buy nausea, and suffer from aesthetic fatigue. At this point, Daikanyama is the place to go for a moment of peace and quiet, to see Tokyo from a different perspective.

From Daikanyama Station, most of the stores are centered on Hachiman-dori and the old Yamate-dori. The paths are paved with gravel and lined with stores converted from residential houses. Most of them are "SelectShop" boutiques with unique window displays and interior decorations. Among them are the famous Vivienne Westwood tokyo Shinjuku Kichijoji boutique and the local brand Frapbois, which is not cheap in general, but then again, it's not like a chain store in a big mall or a small store, so whether it's a gift for yourself or a friend or relative, you're guaranteed to get something special. gift is the most secure.

Daikanyama is part of Tokyo's affluent neighborhood, and one look at the cars parked in front of the residents' doors and you'll get the idea: Porsches, Maybachs ...... and other luxury cars that you'd normally only see at a car show are parked quietly on the side of the road. The stores in the whole area are also very loose, maybe two or three stores in a block, and no one is next to each other. A shopping frenzy is unlikely here, but it gives you a sense of calm and gives you the time and mood to appreciate something and pick out an outfit you really like.

Recommended Itinerary

Morning: Shibuya shopping, bag storage

Afternoon: Daikanyama wandering, afternoon tea, and in the evening, a nice Daikanyama meal at Ebisu, the food court next door

3 Treasures of Shopping

There are three treasures that will help you when you go shopping in Tokyo!

1 suitcase: no exaggeration, the streets of Tokyo are full of them, dragging a suitcase shopping, all in one.

2 walkie-talkie: suitable for small groups of more than two people, split up especially useful, but also to save the phone bill!

3 band-aid: grinding out blisters affect the efficiency? The first time I've seen this, I've had a chance to see it in action.

VIVIENNEWESTWOOD

Featured on VivienneWestwood, this red label series is relatively civilian, but also less a lot of Vivienne old lady kind of exaggerated elements, more suitable for daily wear. It also often pushes out limited editions that are exclusive to Japan, so there is a queue of Vivienne diehards in the UK who come to Japan to queue up. This year's main style is still Vivienne's best graffiti, and the price of each item is in the four-figure range, so is it expensive? That's a matter of opinion.

Q- NAIL

Features What attracted us the most is actually the decorative design of this store. To get to the store, you have to go up the stairs, then walk through a long corridor like a footbridge, and then go downstairs: after circling around, the core of the shop is actually on the ground floor. The owner must have put a lot of thought into the spatial design of the store, which is actually really high as it utilizes the space underground and introduces ample light. The store specializes in women's clothing, leaning towards a girly style with fresh and bright colors. In the clothing area also opened a special counter, specializing in selling environmentally friendly shopping bags, chopsticks, rain gear, it looks like the owner must be trying to pass on their attitude to life.
