"One Step Beyond" is a drama film produced by Beijing Buyei Film Culture Development Co. Ltd. and directed by Jiang Wen, starring Jiang Wen, Ge You, Zhou Yun, Shu Qi, Wen, Wang Zhiwen, Hong Huo, Liu Li Nian, and Na Ying, which was released on December 18, 2014 in theaters in mainland China.
The movie is adapted from the "Yan Ruisheng Case", which tells the story of adventurer Ma Qianri, who breaks into Shanghai and turns against his longtime friend Xiang Feitian, and the two men go from dancing with a beautiful woman to confronting each other in prison.
