What are some allusions in Forrest Gump?

The Ku Klux Klan

Forrest Gump says he was named by his mother after General Nathan Bedford Forrest, an American Civil War hero.

Who was this general?

In 1866, some U.S. Civil War veterans formed a violent hate group, the Klu Klux Klan, commonly known as the Ku Klux Klan, and in 1867, the Klan held a national convention, and this same Gen. Nathan Bedford Forrest was elected as their national leader.

Elvis Presley

In the movie, a young man with a guitar stays over at Forrest Gump's house, and Forrest Gump teaches him a self-created dance routine, and later, Forrest Gump sees the young man on TV dancing the same dance he taught him.

The young man was Elvis Presley, also known as Elvis Presley.

In the 1950s and '60s in the United States, Elvis Presley was the king of pop music. The song "Hound Dog" that the young man in the movie plays and sings is also a masterpiece of Elvis Presley. And the hip-twisting dance that Forrest Gump "taught" him is also Elvis' most iconic dance step.

The Schoolhouse Door Incident

The dorky Forrest Gump blundered into the TV cameras, which were broadcasting a confrontation between the governor and the National Guard commander in front of the school.

This is also a real-life incident, known as the Stand in the Schoolhouse Door.

On June 11, 1963, the University of Alabama admitted two black students to the school, and then-Alabama Governor George Wallace, unhappy with the school's decision, stood in the doorway and prevented the black students from registering.

JFK assassinated

Agam played on the varsity football team and was received by the president, who was a nice man, but then was shot, followed by the assassination of his brother, Forrest Gump recalled.

On Nov. 22, 1963, President John F. Kennedy was shot in the head by gunman Oswald as he rode in his car through Dealey Plaza in Dallas, Texas, and died after medical treatment.

On June 5, 1968, Robert F. Kennedy, John F. Kennedy's own brother, followed in his brother's footsteps and ran for president. Early that morning, after delivering a speech, he was sniped by a Palestinian immigrant, Sheehan.

5. Vietnam War

There's not much more to say about Forrest Gump's military experience.

The Vietnam War lasted for 20 years from 1955 to 1975, with four U.S. presidents. During the Vietnam War, the U.S. *** dropped 8 million tons of bombs on Vietnam, far more than the sum of the bombs dropped on all battlefields during World War II, resulting in more than 1.6 million deaths in Vietnam. America's own losses were also very heavy, with more than 58,000 killed, more than 300,000 wounded, and costing more than $400 billion.
