What's it like to spend New Year's Eve alone in a foreign country?

I'm in a large rural area in the United States. To celebrate New Year's, I ordered a white rice dish for lunch inside the school (a rare treat). I ordered a Mexican-style soup, fished out the vegetables and a bit of chicken, dipped it in soy sauce and chili, and ate it with the white rice, not to mention that the rice with the vegetables really made me feel like Chinese food. Probably in this area, white rice == Chinese food == New Year. In the evening is the main event, from the box inside took out the instant noodles purchased online, the old pickled cabbage flavor. I don't usually want to eat them, but I keep them in my suitcase for fear that if I get addicted to them, I won't be able to face the hamburger sandwiches at school. After cooking the noodles in the microwave, I put the seasoning packet on it! The sauerkraut in the sauerkraut packet was amazing. The noodles were cooked very softly and soaked up all the broth, the flavor was amazing, I'm not a spicy eater, but the spiciness was very comforting. The whole person warm, very happy feeling.
