Coconut tree people have hatred for the player as soon as they appear (they appear because they cut down trees), if you don't do something about it, the tree people's hatred is permanent, and it will hunt you to the end of your days, even if you run away in a boat, and then it will still recognize you when you come back.
There are several ways to get rid of the hatred:
1) Kill the tree man, simple and brutal.

③Divert the hate, by drawing it to pigmen, snakes, spiders, etc., and they'll fight on their own.
