A brief history of the Hangzhou Yue Opera Troupe

In April 1958, the troupe went to Beijing with plays such as "The Unlockable Girl", "A Thousand Miles a Day" and some small singing programs, and performed in Tiananmen Square and Qianmen Station Square, causing a sensation in the capital. , and was received by Premier Zhou Enlai. "People's Daily" published an editorial on April 26 titled "It is necessary to create more short literary and artistic works"; the Ministry of Culture issued a "Notice on Professional Art Groups Should Perform on Urban Streets."

In 1959, it was divided into the first regiment and the second regiment.

In 1960, the second troupe was merged into the Hangzhou Experimental Theater Company. Soon after, the Experimental Theater Company was canceled and its original name was restored.

In 1961, the first and second troupes merged and were still called Hangzhou Yue Opera Troupe. Wang Guijun serves as branch secretary and group leader, and Xu Zhichang, Zhang Qinjuan and Yu Yuping serve as deputy group leaders. Soon, students from the troupe's small science classes and the Hangzhou art training class graduated, enriching a group of young actors and actresses, mainly women's Yue Opera, and began to co-star.

Disbanded during the "Cultural Revolution" in 1968.

In 1978, Xu Zhichang, Zhang Qinjuan and Gao Aijuan were responsible for the reconstruction.

In September 1979, it was divided into a male and female team and a female Yue Opera team. The main actresses include: Zhang Qinjuan, Yu Yuping, An Sufang, Luo Hengfang, Xu Minfeng, Wang Ruya, Wang Yiling, Xing Sufang, Gao Aijuan, Zhao Biyun, Zhu Xinmin, Chen Qiuyue, Zhao Jinlin, Tao Ruijuan, etc.; the male actors include Song Shunfa, Lu Xu, Chen Shaohua, Zhan Min wait. Choreographers and directors include Tang Xuechu, Luk Gaoping, Fu Haoping, Lee Kuan Yew, Wang Yizhi, Chen Nianyu, Luo Jianzhong; composers include Tian Xiaodong, Wang Rutao, Lu Huachan, Ma Haofang, Zhang Ruitang, etc.; stage designers include Chen Tianwen, Yu Deming, etc. The troupe attaches great importance to the construction of repertoire. As early as its establishment, it summoned senior artists such as Tao Sulian and Xiang Chaolin to record the operas in a volume, which is preserved to this day. It also transplanted and adapted "Jasper Hairpin", "Spring Remains in the World", "Jade Hairpin" and "Jade Hairpin". "Dragonfly", "Tears of Acacia", "Second Plum Blossoms", "Continuous Promotion to Three Levels", "The Story of Shen Qing", "Sister Jiang", "Black Camellia", etc.

After 1978, a number of newly edited and adapted plays such as "Jiao Pa Ji", "Su Xiaoxiao", "Oiran", "Orchid Pavilion", "In the Silent Place" and so on have been performed. Performances in Shanghai, Jiangsu, Shandong, Jiangxi, Fujian, Anhui and other places are very popular. Among them, "Jade Dragonfly" has been performed for more than 500 times, and "Su Xiaoxiao" was recorded by Shanghai Record Company. "The Biography of Shen Qing" is well-known in major cities in Hangzhou and Shanghai and has been made into records.

At the end of 1985, Hangzhou Yue Opera Theater was established, known as Hangzhou Yue Opera Theater No. 1 Troupe. Later it was also called Hangzhou Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Troupe. Gao Aijuan, Ding Jiaqing, and Hou Jun successively served as the main leaders. The directors are Xu Chaobang, Chen Huiqi, and Zhan Min, the composer is Zhang Zhiliang, and the stage designers are Dai Xiaoyun and Xu Xiji. The main actors include Plum Blossom Award winners Xie Qunying and Chen Xueping, Zhou Weijun, Chen Xiaohong, Han Meichun, Lin Bifeng, Yun Min, Zhou Yujun, Shi Huilan, Jing Fang, etc.

In 1987 and 1989, he visited Japan twice to perform.

In the 1990s, he went to Hong Kong twice and once to Canada to perform. In 1995, 20 people who received orientation training at the Provincial Art School graduated and joined the troupe, and began to perform in two teams.

In 1994, he participated in the "Jasper Hairpin·Guining" and "Love Hook" in the China Xiaobaihua Yue Opera Festival. Actors such as Xie Qunying, Jing Fang, and Lin Bifeng won gold and bronze awards respectively. Plays that have won provincial and municipal awards include "Rouge River", "The Winter's Tale" (adapted from Shakespeare's famous play), "Shengtang Bridge", "Butterfly Lovers", etc. Among them, "Pear Blossom Love" won the "Five of Zhejiang Province" First Project" Award, eleven awards at the China Drama Festival, the Wenhua New Drama Award of the Ministry of Culture, the Outstanding New Drama Award of the Seventh Zhejiang Drama Festival, and many other awards. The Yue Opera TV series filmed by CCTV won the "Peony Award" and "Feitian Award".

In 2000, the fairy tale musical "The Bird" participated in the National Children's Drama Festival and won the "Five One Project" Award from the Propaganda Department of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China in 2001.
