Happy farmhouse sister festival

Peasant Women's Day is actually the Valentine's Day of Miao people. Held from February 14 to February 17 in the lunar calendar, it is a festival for Miao boys and girls to exchange love.

On the fourteenth day, Miao girls in Shidong soaked glutinous rice with sister flowers and various plant pigments, steamed it into colorful sister rice and put it in a clean sieve. As soon as it got dark, the little boys went on a trip-begging for food from the girl's sister. Sisters' dinner is a symbol of girls' friendship and love, and represents girls' worries. Boys in the younger generation get the younger sister's rice given by girls. If pine leaves are hidden in it, it means that girls are willing to make friends with the younger generation. If there are Toona sinensis buds hidden inside, it means that the girl fell in love with the epigenetic at first sight and wanted to marry the epigenetic; If there is pepper or garlic hidden in it, it means that the girl refused the love for the rest of her life, and the poor boy had to grieve alone.

15 and 16 are the busiest days for the party. 100 People from more than one neighboring village went to Pianzhai Village in Shidong to celebrate. The girls on the drum field in the village, wearing their own embroidered Miao brocade and silver ornaments with flower and bird patterns, surrounded a wooden drum in four or five circles and danced with the sound of the wooden drum.
