Beijing Winter Olympics Opening Ceremony cast the largest age span of the program

The hot show is one of the longest and oldest performances of the opening ceremony of the Beijing Winter Olympics.

The kindergarten children, as well as the gray-haired elderly, had to train hard to reserve enough physical strength to complete the 30-minute show.

The show starts with a marching square dance, and after each song, each team either performs a transition or changes the dance form, aiming to bring the audience a colorful and confident Chinese rhythm.

Zhang Yimou, general director of the opening and closing ceremonies of the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics and Paralympics, shared the source of the creative idea: "There are no stars in the hot show, no professionals, it's just a Chinese square dance that the people are happy to see. Why do people want to dance, because the days are better, out of poverty, rich, happy life will sing and dance."
