Pan'an Township is located in the western part of Gangu County, 105°04′ east longitude, 34°43′ north latitude, west of Wushan County Luomen Township. It is 13.5 kilometers long from east to west and 8.78 kilometers wide from north to south, with an area of 171.68 square kilometers and a population of 77,447 in 19,140 households (at the end of 2008).
