What struck you about "The Cocoanuts"?

The movie begins with footage of the killing of the chibi - the antelope is killed alive, and then the thieves simply skin it. The desolate area of Coco Sicily (a large plateau on the west side of China) is covered with antelope skins to satisfy the needs of foreigners, but in the end, the people of China are trying to make a living. The beginning of the movie clearly shows the two conflicting groups of people in Coco-Colli. One group is the thieves, who hunt and kill a lot of Tibetan antelopes in order to do business with foreigners; the other group is the patrols organized by the local residents, with Ritai as the leader of the patrols. They take it as their duty to catch the thieves and protect the Tibetan antelope. And the movie unfolds with the vision of Duo Yu (Zhang Lei), a reporter from Beijing.

But about five minutes into the movie, the audience is already told that the director is not telling a story of good and evil, much less one of soldiers catching thieves -- when Duo Yu from Beijing asks the local children where Ritai is, they run away; and when Duo Yu gets to Ritai's place, he sees antelope skins all over the attic. Coco-Cecil is not a place to find morality; it is the challenge of living with nature on the barren plateau that is their challenge and their life. Cocosiril is a beautiful name for beautiful green mountains and beautiful girls. Director Lu Chuan used a lot of broad shots to show the magnificent mountains, clouds, rivers and starry sky in Coco-Colli. However, at the same time, the director also captured the fear of Coco-Colli: sandstorms, wind and snow, frozen rivers, lack of oxygen on the plateau, quicksand, etc. Therefore, every time the patrol team went up to the mountain, they had to go to the mountains to see the beautiful mountains. Therefore, every time the team goes to the mountain, the time of parting may also be the time of death. Therefore, they have an attitude of joyfulness, crying and embracing each time they part. The director also emphasizes the deep friendship between the members of the team, and uses primitive and natural body language such as dancing and embracing to show the simplicity of the emotions among the team. Duo Yu from Beijing does not feel out of place on the surface, as if she has instantly walked into their lives and directly felt their pain and happiness. The people who live in Coco-Colli love this place, and by protecting the Tibetan antelope, they are actually protecting the simple soul of Coco-Colli. Even though it may cost them their lives. What about income? Simple clothing, shortage of food, and the sadness of the Chinese land are all played out on the word 'live'. Prayer becomes the best tool for cleansing the soul in the midst of such harsh living conditions.
