On July 25, 2011, the first prototype of 3 MW series high-speed permanent magnet wind turbine jointly developed by EXTECH and Aerodyne Energy Systems, was successfully launched in Shanghai Lingang Base. This is the third series of grid-connected large-scale wind turbines developed by EXTECH following the 780 kW and 1.5 MW wind turbines. The successful launching of the first 3 MW prototype, which is 10.4 meters long and weighs 96 tons, signifies that EXTECH has already grasped the core technology of the design of new high-efficiency and large-capacity wind turbines, and has become a member of the international mainstream machine manufacturers. On May 10, 2011, Shanghai Huayi Wind Energy Electric Co., Ltd, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Huayi Electric, signed a contract with MECAL Applied Mechanics B.V., a subsidiary of MECAL B.V. On December 22, 2010, the non-public offering of shares by EXTECH was approved by the China Securities Regulatory Commission. The non-public offering of not more than 78 million shares raised a total of not more than 950 million yuan. The fund-raising investment covers wind power equipment technology research and development and production and sales, wind power project engineering services as well as power equipment.
On October 14, 2010, the first large-scale wind farm installed by Huayi Wind Turbines, the Inner Mongolia Coal Kiln Mountain Yufeng Project, with 64 sets of 780-kilowatt wind turbines, all achieved grid-connected power generation.
