"Love mice often leave food, pity moths don't light lamps" is from Su Dongpo's Eight Poems of Qin Hui, an elder, which is two of the sentences. The complete four poems are:
Hook curtain belongs to Ruyan, and flies out.
? Always leave food for mice, but it's a pity that moths don't light up.
Translation:
Hook up the curtains that you dare not put down, so that you can come back when your breasts are swallowed; Seeing the stupid fly hit the window, quickly open the window door to let it out; Worried that the mice at home have nothing to eat, I often leave some food for them. Don't light a lamp at night, in order to cherish the life of moths.
