Luodai Ancient TownLuodai Ancient Town is located in Longquanyi District of Chengdu, about 18 kilometers away from the city, and is the most well-preserved Hakka ancient town in the suburbs of Chengdu. Wandering around the thousand-year-old town, eating local snacks, drinking tea and rubbing mahjong in the teahouse along the street, and experiencing Hakka culture in the process, has become one of the choices for Chengdu citizens to relax on weekends.
The town of a thousand years old street, Hakka houses well-preserved, the old street was "a street seven lanes" pattern, stores on both sides of the street. The town's four major guild halls (Guangdong Guild Hall, Jiangxi Guild Hall, Huguang Guild Hall, Chuanbei Guild Hall) and the Hakka Museum have left the Hakka people's atmosphere of the past.
The Guangdong Huiguan on the upper street of the ancient town was built in the Qing Dynasty, and is considered one of the best surviving Huiguan in China, with the grandest scale. Local Hakka people often hold some Hakka folk activities here, such as "eating Hakka food, wearing Hakka clothes, sleeping on a flower bed".
Nowadays, Luodai Ancient Town has become a part of the city except for these old buildings. There are many street teahouses in the town, Chengdu people often come here on weekends, just sit down and ask for a cup of tea, a few people get together to play mahjong, cozy.
