Mysterious Architecture

Late in 2005, Geng Wei disclosed the latest discovery of underwater archaeology in Chengjiang County, Yunnan Province, in the past two years. A golden sonar scan showed a stunningly grand outline of the underwater city. Geng Wei said the remains of the ancient city have been proven to cover an area of 2.4 square kilometers, no less than the size of Chengjiang County in the 1970s. There are eight major structures, of which two high-stepped buildings and a circular building are the most important.
One of the tall terraced buildings is divided into three floors, 60m wide on the ground floor, 32m wide on the second floor, 18m wide on the top floor, and the whole building is 16m high. sonar scans show it has a very neat and symmetrical pace.
The other staircase building is the grandest. It consists of five floors, 63m wide at the base of the first, 48m wide on the second, and the third and fourth floors collapsed so badly that it could do without careful measurement. The fifth level is 27 meters wide and the whole building is 21 meters high, similar to the Mayan pyramids in the United States. Geng Wei believes that the underwater circular building is a prototype of the buckled design. At present, almost all the archaeological achievements about the ancient Dian State are focused on the excavation of tombs and cultural relics. Archaeologists, by studying the bronze patterns of the ancient Yunnan civilization, have found that the buildings of the ancient Yunnan people were mainly pole-and-fence buildings. This type of pole-and-fence construction is a building made by first building a frame with bamboo and wood, hanging the bottom layer, and then repairing the walls. According to Geng Wei, the rectangle formed by inserting wood into the slate holes is fully consistent with the foundation of pole-and-fence architecture. Fuxian Lake is located in Chengjiang County, Jiangchuan County, Huaning County, more than 60 kilometers from Kunming. The lake covers an area of 212 square kilometers, second only to Dianchi and Erhai, and is the third largest lake in Yunnan Province. The deepest part is 155 meters, which is the first deep-water lake in Yunnan Province. Besides Tianchi, a crater lake in the Changbai Mountains in northeast China, Fuxian Lake is the second largest known deep-water lake in China.
Lugu Lake has a reservoir capacity of 2.252 billion cubic meters. Lugu Lake is a plateau fault dissolution lake, belonging to the Litang River system in the upper reaches of the Yangtze River, a tributary of the Jinsha River and a tributary of the Yalong River. It is the highest lake in Yunnan Province and the third largest deep-water lake in China.
