★September 23, 1999 to October 3, 1999, at the invitation of the Hong Kong New Territories Youth Federation, the Department of Ethnic Arts Troupe went to Hong Kong for exchange performances and participated in a series of activities to celebrate the fiftieth anniversary of the founding of the PRC in Hong Kong. The performance was well received by the society and widely praised by the Hong Kong audience.

★On March 6, 2001, the teaching reform project of the department, "Tapping the local materials, absorbing the achievements of modern art education, and walking out of a new way of professional practice teaching" won the first prize of Hunan Provincial Teaching Achievements, and the main completers were: Zhang Shuping, Wang Yuehui, Zhang Jianguo, Li Kaipei, and Long Qingfeng.
