On the afternoon of the second day, the cultural team started to give a condolence performance for the head of the 63rd Artillery Division, the representatives of the governmental organs and the directly subordinate sub-units of the Division.

The first performance organized by captain Li Jiufang and instructor Wu Fan opened. The repertoire of skits, quick panels, small chorus, solo, comedy, dance and so on, very exciting. Especially the small chorus of the theme song of "Heroic Children", when Liu Shangxian, who plays "Wang Fang", stood in front of the queue: "The wind and smoke rolled and sang heroes, the four sides of the green mountain side to listen to the ear ------ ", the whole audience applauded thunderously.

Langshan Vinh County, a Vietnamese old woman, more than 60 years old, heard that the Chinese troops have a girl child, quite rare, and hastened to cook a basket of eggs, find the troops on. Political comrades brought her old man to the female soldiers live in the hayloft, she handed the eggs to five, only pulling Liu Shangxian's hand, said Liu Shangxian long white, dignified, quiet, but also said that never seen such a beautiful female warrior. Pulling her hand, talking about everything, teasing Liu Shangxian all red in the face. Sitting, talking for more than two hours, before reluctantly leaving. Civilian labor team transferred to Lang Son. Lang Son City Stadium, a few days ago played the Chinese movie "Heroic Children", reflecting strong, political impact, Wang Fang's character Liu Shangxian, on the way to the artillery company position, was recognized by a group of Vietnamese officers and soldiers. They pointed and talked, and gave her a thumbs-up and a shake, and applauded together to salute her. On Aug. 20, 1965, Veteran Vu Won Kha, a member of the Politburo of the Vietnamese Workers' Party, Deputy Prime Minister and National Defense Forces, came to inspect the troops, and Liu Shangxian presented flowers on behalf of the troops. At that time, Liu Shangxian combed short hair, neat military uniform and helmeted cap, quite spirited with a pair of bright eyes, walked to Minister Vu with a smile on her face, "snapped" to stand at attention and salute, hands holding flowers. Minister Vu returned the salute, and the moment he received the flowers, he recognized this "Wang Fang" and said with a smile, "I have seen your movie in Hanoi." Then he asked her kindly in Chinese, "What is your name?" and "How old are you?" "How old are you?" "Where are you from?" Liu Shangxian answered one by one, and when she said she was from Shanghai, Minister Vu said with a smile, "This beautiful Shanghai girl of yours has also come to support our Vietnamese people's fight against the U.S. Welcome! Welcome!" Yang Minghui, a reporter of PLA Pictorial, snapped this shot. In those years, the motherland condolence troupes have to support the Vietnamese troops to perform to inspire morale, Xia Zhen old comrades recalled that experience, he said wryly, the movie "heroes and daughters" played Wang Fang that actor also gave him "a knife" na.

It turned out to be the company to improve life - dumplings, he went to help the kitchen, just "Wang Fang" also came to help the kitchen, in the pavement on the chopping of dumpling filling surrounded by too many people, one person with a knife, in the midst of the hustle and bustle, "Wang Fang" the tip of the knife! Xia Zhen's hand to touch a bit, see the blood, the Liu Shangxian to scare the rush to pull out the fragrant handkerchief to wrap, anxious tears are flowing out of the ...... Xia Zhen's hand so far has left a scar, although not too clear, but it is indeed a small scar. Hey! are decades of things, but, comrades of the memories are still colorful, "praise" that knife coincidence ..... Who would have thought that a small incident at that time is still interesting to recall? Liu Shangxian just started from the movie "Heroes and Daughters" not long ago, caught up with the "Cultural Revolution". At that time, the whole factory stopped making movies, and the actors and actresses were unemployed, so every actor and actress had a kind of disturbed and agonized mind. "The impact of the Cultural Revolution on Liu Shangxian and her family deprived her of the opportunity to continue acting along the momentum of Heroes and Daughters. Until the end of the Cultural Revolution, in 1979, she co-starred with veteran movie actor Zhang Ruifang in the Bayi Film Studio movie "Roar, Yellow River", which was the first time she appeared on the screen after many years. In order to get back the lost precious years, from the 1980s onwards, she revitalized her spirit and took off again, climbing higher with great efforts. To her delight, she kept her film contracts coming, portraying middle-aged women of different personalities in films such as "Spark", "Boxer", "Footprints", "Love at Sea" and "Miner".

Late in the 1980s, Liu Shangxian gradually moved behind the scenes and became a director at Bayi Film Studio. As a "young" director, she didn't want to waste her time and tried to direct more movies. She was actively involved in the shooting of TV dramas and feature films, including many historical subjects and short dramas about running for prosperity, and then directed several feature films reflecting the theme of reform and opening up. She was physically fit, and often went to the mountainous areas of the border region to shoot, and could endure much pain and fatigue. She has participated in directing more than ten works, such as "Wind and Rain Down Zhongshan", "Love in the Mountain", "Su San", "The Daughters-in-Law's Matters of the Heart", "The Lobbyist", "The Walk of Xiantao", and "The Chinese Criminal Police", among which, "Wind and Rain Down Zhongshan" is a short drama reflecting the theme of reform and opening up. Among them, <> was awarded the Excellent Film Prize by the Ministry of Culture in 1983.
