Historical Traceability of Tianjin Time Tunes

Since the end of the Qing Dynasty and the beginning of the Civil War, it has been circulating in Tianjin (mainly sung among boatmen, porters, craftsmen and rickshaw drivers). It has its origins in the time tunes of the Ming and Qing dynasties, and is closely related to the folk tunes of many regions. In addition to a few duet programs such as "Wanting Granny", most of the Tianjin Shihtongs are sung by one person, accompanied by the big three-stringed instrument as well as the sihu and jizi board. Its tunes are "Guanshan Tune", "Old Mandarin Tune", "New Mandarin Tune" and "Laha Tune", "Lokshi Tune", "Lokwu Tune", etc. There are also "Tangshan Tune" from abroad. There are other ditties such as "Exploring Qingshui River", "Being Afraid of Five Nights", "Playing Chess", and so on, which came from abroad. Tianjin time tune singing sentence style has a seven-character sentence-based, there are long and short sentences in between; plate style has a slow plate, in the plate, two six plate and close to the number of singing "stacks of plate", such as "leaning on the mountain tune" in the "large number of children "It has a strong vocal tone. Its voice tone has a strong local flavor. The traditional repertoire of Tianjin Shidong reflects the life style of Tianjin people. Among them, there are cheerful "kicking the shuttlecock", "flying kites"; there are also sad "bachelor crying for his wife", "stepmother beating children"; there are also quite a lot of reflecting the misery of prostitutes "Qin Lou Sorrowful Autumn" and so on. Initially, it was just a singing activity after people's labor. Since the 1920s, there have been professional singers, some of whom sing in stalls and teahouses, often singing songs reflecting current events, such as "Six Years of the Republic of China" and "Battle of Zhi Feng". The earliest stage to sing the tune of the time is the actress Zhao Bao Cui, who also plays the Beijing Rhythm Drum, followed by Gao Wu Gu, Qin Cui Hong, Zhao Xiaofu, Jiang Ershun and other famous actors. After the founding of the People's Republic of China, Tianjin actor Wang Yubao, together with Qi Fengming and other string masters, carried out artistic innovation of "leaning on the mountain tune", enriched the melodious singing, added the sheng, yangqin and other accompanying musical instruments, and created and adapted the "watermelon wrestling", "Ode to the Red Rocks", "spring" and other new pieces.
