Teaching is teaching and learning, which are interconnected and inseparable, and there are inevitably scholars who have to teach. Students are the main body being taught. Therefore, understanding and analyzing the students' situation and teaching in a targeted manner is crucial to the success of teaching. When I first came into contact with Guangzhou students, I didn't know them at all, and I just concentrated on studying books and teaching materials, trying to make the classroom lively, and wishfully thinking that the students would be more receptive. But I hit a brick wall right from the start. In the first lesson, I taught in accordance with their own teaching design, on a self-consciously understandable and not rigid class, that the teaching effect is ideal as expected, the results of the class later a survey, a listen to the reaction of the students, only to realize that I speak the spoken language of the majority of the students can not keep up with the reaction of the teaching of part of the content of the students have never learned before.
On the one hand, the students' ability to listen to and speak English is relatively weak; on the other hand, the students can't adapt to the deeper English teaching. On the other hand, although the students in Classes 3 and 4 are more active and the atmosphere in class is positive, the middle and poor students account for most of them, and the top students are relatively few. Therefore, the lectures were too deep and did not take care of the whole. From this, we can see that understanding and analyzing the actual situation of students, seeking truth from facts, analyzing specific problems, and teaching according to students' abilities have a direct impact on the effectiveness of lectures. This is what is mentioned in pedagogy, "Preparing for the teaching method should be prepared for the students at the same time". This theory has been verified in my teaching practice.
Teaching, lesson planning is an essential and very important part of the preparation of students, but also to prepare for the teaching method. Inadequate preparation or poor preparation, will seriously affect the classroom atmosphere and enthusiasm, remember a good teacher once said: "poor preparation for the preparation of the lesson, it is better not to take the class, otherwise it is a waste of effort." I understand the importance of lesson preparation, therefore, every day I spend a lot of time in the preparation of lessons on top, seriously study the teaching materials and teaching methods, not satisfied with the work will not end. It was hard work, but it proved to be worth it.
A well-prepared class will benefit both students and teachers. For example, when I was teaching "Unit3.Lesson9", the theme of the lesson was "how to ask and answer the time", which was difficult to teach. If I teach it as it is, students will find it difficult and boring. In order to do a good job in this lesson, I studied the text carefully, found out the key points and difficulties, and prepared to speak in a targeted way. When it comes to "half" and "quarter", I use the mathematical "circle" to explain and illustrate it through drawing. The students understand these two words graphically, and they are motivated when they understand them. Therefore, when practicing the sentence pattern of "What's the time? It's ......", the students are particularly hardworking and the teaching effect is very satisfactory. It can be seen that careful lesson planning is very important to teaching. Especially for English, which is a foreign language that students are not familiar with and find difficult.
Listening to lectures is also a good way to improve one's teaching ability, and only by listening to more lectures can a new teacher gradually accumulate experience. Therefore, I treasure every opportunity to listen to lectures. The main target of listening to the class is the excellent teachers of our group, but also listen to other teachers' classes. This semester, I have listened to more than 20 lessons, I have gained a lot, and gradually mastered some classroom skills. After listening to the lessons, the teachers to the classroom to talk about the record on the listening record, and then on my own preparation for the revision of the lesson plan, will be a lot of their advantages and strengths to apply to my classroom teaching, and achieved a better result.
Because of the special situation of the English language, students in the continuous learning, there will be the phenomenon of superiority and inferiority, the poor students to expand the surface, will seriously affect the learning atmosphere in the class. For this reason, I have developed specific plans and goals for the students to carry out planned tutoring. In classes three and four, I divided the students into three groups. The first group is capable of improving, but usually lazy brains do not learn students, these students, I take collective counseling, assign them fixed tasks, do not allow them to have the opportunity to be lazy, so that they play the level of due; the second group is willing to learn, but due to the ability of the students is not strong. To this part of the students I take appropriate guidance, patience, slowly improve their performance methods, of course, can not be rushed, and more encouragement, as long as they are willing to work hard, the results are expected to improve; the third group is loosened discipline, learning is not serious, the foundation is not good students. For this part of the people I carry out after-school individual counseling. Because this part of the students need a quiet and undisturbed environment, will be quiet to study. I think as long as the tutoring, these students re-establish the foundation, the effect of future lectures will be better.
English is a language. Trapped in this, in addition to the classroom effect, but also need to let the students read more, speak more, practice more. For this reason, in the morning reading, oral drills, I make full use of the effective time, found that the problem of timely correction. After class, I found that students' homework problems are also timely solution, timely and clear, so that students can instantly digest. In addition, some of the unconscious students also take strong recitation and other ways to improve their ability.
Precise teaching and practicing is another way I take to consolidate what students have learned. In the classroom, I speak less lecture, so that each student to take notes, master the knowledge of the key points, and then give them more time to practice to consolidate, after class to leave appropriate different levels of homework for different levels of students to practice, so that through the lecture, more practice, so that students in the process of listening to mastery of knowledge, in the process of practicing to consolidate knowledge. At the same time, I let each student to prepare a wrong book, in the process of each of my evaluation of the exercise questions, the exercises and knowledge points they are prone to error focus on the wrong book, in order to focus on the usual to memorize and understand. Facts have proved that this method is practicable and effective.
In short, after a semester of hard work, the final exam is a test. No matter how high or low the score is, it reflects to a certain extent the effect of my teaching in this semester, and it is also a testimony of my students and I*** with the same efforts, and it will motivate me to continue to work hard, ask more questions, think more, and learn more from the excellent teachers to strive for greater progress.
