How to plant pumpkins

Pumpkins can be planted in April-May every year to improve the germination rate of seeds. After that, you can put the pumpkin seeds with full particles into the seedling tray and control the room temperature at about 25℃. When pumpkin seedlings grow 3-4 leaves, they can be transplanted. After transplanting 10 days, appropriate amount of decomposed organic fertilizer can be applied to supplement nutrition, and scaffolding can be set up to make pumpkins grow along the scaffolding.

Planting method of pumpkin

Pumpkin can be planted in April-May every year, when the temperature is stable at around 20℃, and the germination rate of seeds after planting is also high. Sowing should be carried out in sunny or cloudy days to improve the germination rate of seeds. The specific sowing date needs to be appropriately adjusted according to the local climatic conditions.

Before planting pumpkin, it is necessary to carry out seedling treatment, select pumpkin seeds with full and round particles, bury pumpkin seeds in seedling trays filled with humus, and put 1 seed in each tray. Then, cover the seedling tray with a layer of fine sand and water it properly to keep the appropriate temperature at about 25℃. After a period of time, pumpkin seeds can germinate.

After the pumpkin seeds germinate and grow 3-4 leaves, the seedlings can be taken out of the seedling tray with mound and planted in the sunny field, and the spacing between plants should be kept at about 40 cm to provide enough growth space. After planting, it is necessary to water the soil once to make it moist.

After planting pumpkin seeds 10 days, diluted organic fertilizer should be applied to supplement nutrition to accelerate the growth of pumpkin seeds. After the seedlings grow to 8 ~ 10 leaves, the seedlings at the top of the vine should be removed to promote the germination of side branches of the main vine. In addition, a scaffold should be built for the pumpkin to grow along the scaffold.
