Java Surprises (XIII) Indonesia Miniature Park (I)

Grassroots Influence New Horizons Xiao Xiake ( Traveler)

Indonesia Miniature Park (Indonesian: Taman Mini Indonesia Indah, or TMII) is a cultural and recreational park located on the outskirts of East Jakarta, covering an area of 250 acres (1.0 square kilometers). From the park, you can enjoy an overview of Indonesian culture, covering 26 Indonesian provincial pavilions, such as Central Java Pavilion, Bali Pavilion, and Jakarta Pavilion. Within each zone, there are buildings with local traditional features and plants that are unique to the area. In addition, there is a lake in the center of the park in the shape of a miniature map of Indonesia. You can take a boat ride to visit the "islands of Indonesia", a cable car, a miniature train, or a horse-drawn carriage to travel around the "country" and enjoy the scenery of each part of Indonesia. In the park, there are cultural performances such as costumes and dances, as well as food from various regions, and there are many events, especially on weekends and public holidays, where you can experience Indonesia to the fullest. There is also a museum, library, video center, juvenile hall and children's playground, and young people can visit the park regularly to learn traditional music and dance.TMII is designated as a park of international civilization as well as a theme park for world peace. Since I visited on a Monday, there were not many tourists in the park, so I didn't see many performances and food from different places, but I could still enjoy the representative architecture of different provinces. Originally, I thought it would be like the Lilliputian Scenic Spot in Taoyuan or the Jinxiuichunhua Miniature Scenic Spot in Shenzhen, where all the buildings are scaled down. However, after visiting the scenic spot, I found that all the buildings are not "miniature" but built according to the ratio of one to one, so that I can experience the characteristics and grandeur of the actual buildings. Since there are few Chinese-language introductions to the TMII on the Internet, we will introduce them in detail in seven articles. Interested readers can also visit the TMII website to learn more about it and translate the Indonesian text into Chinese via Google.

From the Bogor train station, we had to get off the train on the way back to Jakarta. It was already past 1pm, so I wanted to take a cab, but there were no cabs at the station, instead there were many Grab Riders who could call for a taxi. When you are traveling on your own, you need to be comfortable with transportation and food, so it is a blessing to have a motorcycle to ride on. As for lunch that day, I ordered Indonesian-style chicken leg rice at the general restaurant in the park, which was a simple solution. When the Grab came to the TMII gate to get off, this gate is linked to an avenue, in the beams for a four golden arched door, a closer look at the decorative surface above the emergence of many patterned decorations, can be seen in each arch at the apex of a lion's head ornaments, very much like the traditional Chinese lion head, it can be seen that the lion should be the good luck of the animal in Indonesia, because this totem in the park and the whole of the trip to Java is also often seen. The difference is that this lion head does not have a lower forehead, carved with seven incisors, there are two large incisors on the left and right **** nine. After entering the gate, there is a ticket gate, to buy tickets at a very cheap price to enter, and see a vehicle control has a gate like three big birds spreading their wings, above the TMII logo.

Further ahead to see a square, this square for the park to hold large-scale activities, there is an imitation of the Independence Tower in the center of the square, although not as tall as the National Monument, but also not mini. In the center of the square, there is a building modeled after the Independence Tower. At the back of the square is a square building, red roof in the center above the black protruding, like "wearing a tall hat" building, this building has a tall relief wall on both sides, the wall is carved with the story of the Indonesian War of Independence bas-reliefs, the building in front of the Bogor Botanical Gardens and the Garden Restaurant see the two auspicious statues. There is a statue at the entrance of the building for the second president of Indonesia, Suharto's first lady, she is considered a close friend of the president and political adviser, there will be this statue, it can be seen that the first lady of the construction of the TMII should be a great contribution to the establishment of this statue to honor her, and later to the Museum of Indonesia in the park also found that the creation of the museum is also driven by her.

Around the back of this plaza is a large modern building, which I assume is the TMII office building, and is one of the few modern buildings in the park. The building is inaccessible, but there are two rows of wooden totem poles on the grass below the roof of the building, which look similar to the ones I saw the night before at the Museum of Fine Arts and Ceramics in the old part of Jakarta, and they are placed next to the modern building, which shows that this kind of totem poles play a very important role in Indonesian culture. This is similar to the Indo-Andean tengpoles that you will see at important sites when traveling to Canada. What's more special is that these Tengpoche are mainly made of animals rather than figures, such as big birds and big snakes (dragons), and most of the animals have a fierce expression. In particular, these serpents are similar to the Chinese dragons, such as bloody mouths, large protruding eyes, and long, thin claws, except that the horns of Indonesian snakes are not as protruding. To see the strong characteristics of the Indonesian Tengzhu in TMII has made me feel worthy of the trip, and this is only the first of a series of articles on TMII, continue to move forward will have a richer harvest.

On the opposite side of this modern building, there is a square pavilion with a gray roof, built on a high platform, with different statues along the steps, and cute lions, which can be seen as Indonesian lions and Chinese lions have the effect of calming down the house and avoiding evil spirits. In the center of the pavilion, there is a beautiful model of Borobudur Stupa in Yogyakarta, which is an important cultural heritage of Indonesia, and it is impossible to duplicate it in TMII, so it can only be displayed as a model. It is not possible to replicate the stupa in TMII, so it can only be displayed as a model. Throughout the park, the buildings are almost one-to-one, which is rare to see a model. However, the fact that a beautiful pavilion was built to display the model of the stupa shows its status in Indonesian history and architecture.

Because the TMII Park is so huge, there are two maps of the park listed below, one from Wikipedia, and one is a map of the park notice boards, the internal building is too much, so the map text description is quite small and displayed in English or Indonesian, interested readers can zoom in and translate, in order to visit the park before the Citro?n one step to recognize. From the Google map, there is a lake in the middle of the park, and there are many small islands in the lake, which are used to present the distribution and shape of the islands in the map of Indonesia. There is also a cable car to see this giant 3D model from the air, but unfortunately I rely on two legs to recognize TMII, so I did not notice the map of Indonesia presented in the lake, do not miss. TMII shows the art of Indonesian architecture, so this series will be introduced in seven articles, so that you can better understand the art of Indonesian architecture and culture.
