Overview
The voice of heaven, this book is a voice telling from heaven, a painful melody interpreting destiny, full of historical weight, fascinating work ...... projecting the flavor of opera between the lines. Featuring breathtaking originality, epic scene-setting, scenario-rich and accessible, this novel is a great read that needs to be savored word by word and in detail. The story starts with a couple of big, magical bells.
They total ****three and are cast from broken shovels, rakes, hoes, broken iron pots, dulled spars and rusty old stoves. Each bell had a gold coin melted into it at the time of casting. They looked dark and rough, with only a sliver of clinker around the edges of the bells' mouths, and that was because countless times, Mother had struck the bells in that spot with her brass mallet.
Mother was petite, just big enough to dance in the bell tower, under these three bells. With whirling steps, she skimmed lightly across the smooth wooden floor, the brass mallet in her hand striking the bells at the same time, the sound of metal clanging traveling down the tops of the bells all the way to her teetering toes.
