Star Road:
- 1966 On May 16, 1966, Jenny Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana, USA. She was the ninth child in a family of five brothers who were already making a name for themselves in the music industry as the 'Jackson 5'. The family moved to California shortly after Jenny's birth to give them a leg up.
- 1976 By this time, the 'Jackson 5' were in decline, so Jenny's father, Joseph Jackson, organized a television performance with all the Jacksons. Jenny made a small appearance on the show, singing alongside her brothers. But at the time, Jenny was only known as the sister of the 'Jackson 5', and very few people knew her name.
- 1977-1979 At the invitation of then-famous producer Norman Leer, Jenny was offered a role on the then-hot TV series 'Good Times' - as a young girl named Penny. At the age of eleven, Jenny became an almost overnight sensation, and people raved about her performance as the daughter of a selfish mother.
- 1981-1982 Little Jenny gets her second TV series appearance - playing a girl named Charlene on the then-popular series 'Different Strokes'.
- 1982 On September 21st, 1982, Janet released her first album, Janet Jackson, with no promotion, no music video, and her first taste of failure at the age of 16 - the self-titled album sold poorly, and it looked like Janet's future was in doubt.
- 1984 At her father's request, Jenny released her second album, Dream Street, on October 23rd. As with her first album, there was no promotion, no music video, and the album was again a flop. Jenny mentioned in an interview that she was not ready to record at all, and that it was all because of her father.
- 1984-1985 Jenny got another chance to star in a TV series - Cleo, the biggest young adult TV show at the time. But after one season, Jenny decided to quit because she said she wanted to go to college. On September 7 of the same year, Jenny married James Debarge, the lead singer of DeBarge, a popular young music group at the time. She was 19 years old at the time. The move shocked the entire Jackson family. But the court didn't recognize the marriage because of her age, and a few months later Jenny broke up with James because of his long history of drug abuse.
