There are three explanations for the origin of Fenghua's name. -It is said that Mingzhou County in the Tang Dynasty was quite Fenghua County, hence its name; -said, named after "people are willing to flatter localization"; -it is said that it is from Fenghua Mountain in the east of the county.
As early as five or six thousand years ago, Fenghua created a culture after the famous mountains; Around 4200, the famous Yuanhu Kingdom in the Central Plains centered on Baidu was the regional political, economic and cultural center of Ningbo for quite some time.
In the twenty-fifth year of Qin Wangzheng (the first 222 years), it belonged to Yinxian County, Huiji County, and the county ruled Baizhili (now Baihui Village in Fenghua). In the first year of the founding of the People's Republic of China (9 years), Wang Mang changed Yin to be proud. In the early years of Jianwu in the Eastern Han Dynasty, it was changed to Yin.
In the ninth year of Emperor Kai of Sui Dynasty (589), Yuyao, Yan and Zhi counties were merged into the county to administer Xiaoxi, and Fenghua belonged to the county.
