What are the wedding customs of the Dai people do you know?

Men and women who love each other, after love, will be the male parents entrusted matchmakers to go to the woman's home to propose marriage, the woman's parents are generally not obstructed. After the betrothal, they will choose the "auspicious day" to hold the wedding. Weddings are generally held in the woman's home, the main ceremony is tied line, the Dai language called "Shuhuan" meaning "tethered soul", that is, the bride and groom's soul tethered together, the two hearts tethered together.  

On the day of the wedding, the groom (Dai called "Black Mai") to send the bride (Dai called "pendulum Mai") home, held a tethering ceremony. A small table is set up at the inner end of the bamboo building, the table is paved with banana leaves, two conical hats made of banana leaves (called "Soretong" in Dai language) are placed on the top, one boiled male and female chick are placed underneath, and red and white cloths, bananas, salt, a cup of wine and a box of glutinous rice and white threads are also placed on the table. The table also contains a red cloth, a white cloth, plantains, salt, a glass of wine, and a box with glutinous rice and white lines. The bridegroom sits at the top of the table, with friends and relatives sitting around the table near the bridegroom, and the bride and groom kneeling on the right and on the left, opposite the bridegroom. At the beginning of the tying ceremony, the celebrant makes a congratulatory speech, and everyone present stretches out their right hand on the table and listens to the speech with their heads bowed. After the bridegroom's congratulatory speech, the bride and groom from the table each grabbed a pile of glutinous rice, dipped in wine, point of sacrifice chicken, salt and other things, each person three consecutive points, after the point on the table. Then, the bridegroom from the table to pick up a longer white line, from left to right, around the shoulders of the bride and groom, the ends of the line on the table, said that the two "souls" tethered together, so that they grow old together and will never be separated. Then, the celebrant took two shorter white threads and tied them to the newlyweds' wrists.
