The name originates from the coldest and most difficult to climb the north slope of the mountain, the image originated from the HalfDome, a peak from Yosemite National Park in California, USA, hence the Chinese name "North Face", which means exploring the most difficult and dangerous outdoor spirit.
In 1997, The North Face adopted a new tagline, "The Quest Never Ends".

There's alpine extreme gear like Peak, a running line like Fly, a line for square dancing in the park and old mages taking pictures of lotus flowers, a casual fashion line like Purple Label and White Label, and a variety of hipster co-branding like Supreme Tingfan.
Excluding the co-branded models, the North Face's hot-selling series are: red label, black label, purple label, white label, which is the most popular and famous purple label.
