Musical Fountain
The pre-renovation musical fountain at Tsuen Wan Plaza is located in the atrium of the mall, which already existed at the time of the mall's opening, and is the largest in Hong Kong (but is still recognized as the musical fountain in New Town Plaza, Shatin). Tsuen Wan Plaza musical fountain a *** divided into 4 parts, including the waterfall level, dry fountain (that is, the fountain is sprayed on the ground) stage, the main performance pool and the upper 2 floors of the cedar (or rough shape) fountain area. The main fountain can spray water as high as the top floor of the mall. As the center of Tsuen Wan Plaza was a large atrium, the musical fountain (demolished) was also built along the level, and when there was a large event, the sides of the mall on each level and the elevators were filled with visitors. From the opening of the mall (early 1992) to about 2000, the musical fountain was in its heyday, and there were a lot of people watching it every day.
But later, the location of the musical fountain began to be used for shopping mall program activities, so the fountain performance rate declined. With less maintenance and a declining fountain culture in Hong Kong, the musical fountains eventually declined, such as damaged water lights, aging water mercury, and the swinging fountain's oscillator broke down, making the musical fountain performances less enjoyable. Eventually, on March 13, 2008, the Tsuen Wan Plaza Musical Fountain was demolished.
