Tires should be checked for proper:
Tire pressure, tire size, speed rating, load range, and type of tire construction.
The use of any other tire/wheel size, load range, or type can seriously affect:
Driving, use, speedometer/odometer calibration, vehicle ground clearance, tire clearance between body and chassis, wheel bearing life, brake performance.
New wheels need to be installed when wheels experience:
Bending, cracking, dents, severe corrosion, leaks, elongated wheel bolt holes, excessive lateral or radial runout.
Only the tire size recommended within the tire label on the door post attached to the vehicle must be used.
Tires that are too large or too small can damage the vehicle, affecting durability, and both require modification of the speedometer calibration. Make sure that both the wheel size and the bias meet the recommended requirements for the tires used.
Check tires for signs of uneven wear. The following descriptions are used to identify the type of wear.
Check the tires for the following: cuts, hard object injuries, rubbing injuries, air bubbles, and embedded objects.
Check valve tips for the following: cracks, cuts.
Install a new valve stem when damage is found or when a new tire is installed.
