Walking on the road in his hometown - Tongren Travelogue Day 1 - Downtown and Ancient City

Unexpectedly, the plane was late for more than 2 hours before taking off from Pudong Airport. When I landed at Tongren Phoenix Airport, there were a few air currents that turned the plane upside down a few times. I woke up from a dream, the plane slowly descended, and you could see the night view of Tongren city from the south to the north. The night view of Tongren is still very beautiful. Unfortunately, my cell phone was turned off, so I couldn't take any pictures.

From the airplane, I picked up my luggage and went to the promised drop car. After finding the driver, I realized that it was very dark around the airport. There were only a few scattered staff with those flashing lights attached to them directing traffic.

"How come there are no lights on this side of the road?" I asked the driver as I got in the car.

"Oh, we're still fixing it here, and we just ran out of power today ......," the driver replied leisurely.

I was nervous to hear it, but I was glad that it was the two of us, Fat Cat and I, who came together.

The driver was very enthusiastic about the trip, and took the initiative to talk to us. The driver was very enthusiastic on the way and took the initiative to find a topic to chat with us and talk to us. He also asked us seriously if we were going to travel to Phoenix on the next day, although Phoenix is very close to this side of the country. I thought he was trying to "do business" with us. I didn't realize that he was trying to persuade us not to go, Phoenix ancient city in the county, especially jammed during the holidays.

The driver introduced us to the local customs on the way, especially emphasizing that this is a senior city. If you have a stable job here, you can still live here. The driver prepared us mentally by saying that there are no McDonald's or Pizza Hut here, and no Wanda.

I asked the driver how he liked the big city.

"The city is too big for me to find my way around. I can't find my way around. I'm too tired to wait in line for half a day to do my business. And everywhere ah crowded, I do not like. I like the city now." The driver replied happily.

People who know what they want must live a much happier life!

The fat cat asked again about the price of housing here, and the driver said that his friend just bought a house last week, with an average price of 3200, which is a project of Cinnamon Garden. The driver asked if we need to hurry, I said okay.

The driver explained that if you are not in a hurry, you can usually drive in neutral and go downhill. Tongren is a mountain town, of which the area we are passing through is being developed. Following the driver's direction, we saw rows and rows of buildings under construction. Unfortunately, the lights were dim and we couldn't see very well.

We reached our booked hotel and the driver politely helped me with my luggage and said see you next time.

Since it was already past 23:00 when we arrived at the hotel, Fat Cat suggested a barbecue! I ordered a Hot and Sour Potato, which actually had fish and sour radish in it. I thought it tasted great, but the fat cat couldn't get used to it. It's been a long time since I've eaten so spicy, it's still a bit unbearable.

The fat cat loves food, and the next day, the fat cat woke up and started searching for food from Dianping. We followed the popular Dianping list and came to a tofu hot pot restaurant. This store is inside an alley, we deliberately called to ask for directions to find it. The restaurant was not yet open for business and the owner was kind enough to invite us to just sit inside and wait.

We asked the owner if this is a Tongren specialty, and the owner laughed and said, "Actually, it's from Chongqing, and Chongqing people like to eat tofu flowers."

After dinner, we went to visit Century Park and Qingshui Bridge. Most of this area is undergoing demolition and construction. The roar of construction site machines could be heard everywhere.

Yanzi asked me on WeChat how I felt about the area. She suggested we take a walk over to the Jinjiang Hotel. We checked and it wasn't far. Utilize what the first driver taught us. See a cab, regardless of whether there is someone in the car, give the driver to report the destination, if it is on the way, the driver will say 5 dollars to get in the car! Sure enough, this trick works, and soon came a cab to take us to the Riverfront Park.

Here is completely the world of the elderly, there is a square dance, there are singing songs, there are playing cards ...... I look at the time, only 15:00 in the afternoon, the square dance jumped up.

We also strolled through the ancient city of Tongren and Sanjiang Square. I don't have any special feeling about the ancient city, I feel that the ancient city of the minority areas look similar.

On the way to the ancient city, I met a boy of about seven or eight years old, he was small, carrying a basket about the same height as him, but he was selling tofu on the streets.

There aren't many tourists in the old city, and there are a few young people taking pictures of themselves in their hanboks. It looks like the ancient city has not really been built yet, and many places are closed for engineering repairs. We quickly wandered through the old city and walked along the river.

The fat cat kept saying that he wanted to eat local cuisine. He found another one on his VW Dianping.

The dishes that come up have a feeling that the chef is so willing to put seasoning. Among them, dry potatoes surprised me the most, I always thought the waiter on the wrong dish, the waiter explained that the potatoes in the inside. Really, the whole thing was about to turn into sliced meat in a dry pot. All I could do was finish the tofu!

We went to a couple more supermarkets and cake stores and bought some snacks before returning to the hotel to stay. So much for the first day ......
