"Hymn to Heroes" was written by Gong Mu and composed by Liu Chi. Zhang Yingzhe, the Art Troupe of the Political Department of the Chinese People's Liberation Army Air Force, the Art Troupe of the Political Department of the former Jinan Military Region of the Chinese People's Liberation Army and the Central Military Commission of the Communist Party of China A revolutionary song sung by the Song and Dance Ensemble of the Ministry of Political Work. This song is an episode of the movie "Heroes and Sons" and was released in 1964.
The screenwriter Mao Feng and the director of "Children of Heroes" gave the unedited film clips to the lyricist Gong Mu and invited him to write lyrics for "Hymn to Heroes". After watching the clip, Gongmu thought of his own poem "Ode to the Martyrs" and thought that the poem was related to the movie, both of which were about heroes. After one night, he finished writing the lyrics the next day.
Liu Chi, the composer of the song, did not compose the music immediately after getting the lyrics. Instead, he took his friends to play poker. Just when everyone was getting excited, Liu Chi suddenly threw the cards on the table, went home and refused all interruptions, read the lyrics over and over again, and finally composed the music score. The song is developed based on the Inner Mongolian folk song "Bater Taotaohu".
After the lyrics and music were completed, in order to select actors to sing the song, the creative team of "Heroes and Sons" set up a singing actor selection group, and the lyricists and composers of "Hymn to Heroes" were among them. The director carefully compared the singing status of each singer and finally decided that Zhang Yingzhe would sing "Hymn to Heroes".
During the recording process, although Zhang Yingzhe liked the song very much and she had seen the novel version of the movie before, she did not know what the song she sang was in the movie. Such a picture, so I can't get into the mood when singing in the recording studio. Finally, inspired by screenwriter Mao Feng, Zhang Yingzhe found the feeling.
Song Appreciation:
As the theme song of the film "Heroes and Sons", "Hymn to Heroes" has a shocking charm through its ingenious handling of the internal and external spaces of the story. The whole song is permeated with a kind of magnificence in the steady and stretched melody progression; it is full of infinite affection in the unhurried and unhurried conversation, and presents a two-part structure of verse and chorus.
The main song shows heroic feats from multiple angles and aspects, and eulogizes the great spirit of the hero. The jump of intervals in the last two sentences and the march of the highest note in the whole song are high-pitched and passionate. On this basis, move to the chorus. This aria presents a majestic carol temperament, which is in sharp contrast to the previous folk-style tune, and helps the song reach its climax.
Thus, the feeling of incomparable reverence for the hero was further expressed. These two sentences in the form of a question and answer highly summarize and powerfully sublimate the theme and melody of the song.
