Guangxi University for Nationalities, College of Arts was founded in 2002, formerly known as the Art Department of Guangxi Institute for Nationalities, in July 2003 was reconstructed as Guangxi Institute for Nationalities, College of Arts. There are six undergraduate majors in art design, fine arts, music performance, choreography, broadcasting and hosting arts and radio and television choreography. Among them, broadcasting and hosting art is the earliest undergraduate major among similar majors in Guangxi colleges and universities. The college consists of the Department of Music, the Department of Fine Arts and Design, the Department of Dance, the Department of Radio, Film and Television and the Art Experiment Center. The college now has more than 1,300 students***, the source of students from 19 provinces and autonomous regions across the country, the overall cultural quality of students and the structure of the source of students continue to improve and rationalize.
Relying on the College of Letters and the College of Social Sciences, the college now enrolls master's degree students in Radio and Television Language Arts and Chinese Minority Arts respectively. 2010, the first-level discipline of Theatre and Television Studies has been awarded the "Master's Degree Authorized Points of Construction with Special Financial Support from the Autonomous Region 2010-2015", and the Master of Fine Arts has been listed in the "Autonomous Region 2010-2015". In 2010, the first-level discipline of Theatre and Film Studies was awarded "Master's Degree Authorized Points of 2010-2015 Autonomous Region Financially Sponsored Construction", and the Master of Arts was listed in "Professional Degree Authorized Points of 2010-2015 Autonomous Region Planning and Construction". The college is the "TV broadcasting hosting theory research base" of Guangxi Television Artists Association; it is the joint examination point of broadcasting and hosting art and radio and television editing and directing.
In recent years, the college has won many prizes in important art competitions in the whole country and the province, and has visited and performed abroad many times. Graduates are welcomed by employers and have become one of the popular art colleges for college entrance examination candidates.
