Lingshou County is located in the western part of Hebei Province, on the east side of the Taihang Mountains, 35 kilometers northwest of Shijiazhuang, the provincial capital. It extends east to 114°28′ east longitude, west to 113°45′ east diameter, south to 38°16′ north latitude, and north to 38°48′ north latitude. It is adjacent to Xingtang County in the east, Zhengding County in the southeast, Luquan District in the south across the Hutuo River, bordering Pingshan County in the west, and Pingshan County, Fuping County and Wutai County in Shanxi Province in the northwest corner.

The whole area is oriented northwest-southeast, 15-20 kilometers wide and 100 kilometers long, commonly known as "Lingshou County, a line". Total area of 1066.2 square kilometers. County is located in the southeast corner of the county, the urban area of 7.5 square kilometers.

Xia and Shang Dynasties, for the state of Ji,

Zhou, for the state of Zhongshan, which belonged to the state of Zhao after Zhao's destruction of the state of Zhongshan.
