Dalian Ocean University is the only multi-disciplinary institution of higher learning in the north of China, featuring marine fisheries, with the coordinated development of agriculture, engineering, science, management, literature, law, economics, art and other disciplines. The school was founded in 1952, formerly known as Northeast Fisheries Technical School. 1958 was upgraded to Dalian Fisheries College, and 1978 was upgraded to Dalian Fisheries College.
