The origin of the first "county" --- Jiangxian County in Shanxi Province
The "county" system was introduced to the whole country after the Qin Dynasty united China, and the name "county" is the earliest documented name. The name "county" was created in the ancient state of Jin.

The earliest creation of the "county" system, is the state of Chu. In the middle of the 6th century BC, Chu repeatedly attacked Chen, whose vassals were descendants of Yu Shun. The state of Chu had some difficulties in occupying the land of the descendants of the famous Yu Shun. The kingdoms of the Zhou Dynasty were called "counties", so Chu established a "county" system on the land of Chen. But at that time, the system of "county" was not popularized.
