Master Yin Shin: Xue Mo's new book "The World is a Prop to Adjust Mentality" and my life miracle (reprint)

Recently, Xue Mo's spiritual and cultural monograph "The World is a Prop for Self-adjustment" was published by the Central Compilation and Publishing House. The editor-in-chief is Master Yin Shin, a disciple of Mohism (common name Yang Feifei, once editor-in-chief of a fashion magazine, was selected as one of the "Top Ten New Editors in China Publishing Industry on 20 10" by China Book Business Daily).

It is reported that this book is the first monograph on the big handprint culture on the market. It takes the refined language of Xue Mo's works as the theme, and extracts the most realistic and enlightening words from Xue Mo's works (including literary works, cultural works and essays) on a large scale, so that readers can carry them with them and read them at any time. The unique experience of its editor-in-chief, Mr. Yin, has also aroused enthusiastic response from the society and widespread concern of readers.

Therefore, in order to respond to the call of readers, cultural volunteer Chen conducted a special interview with the master before his death.

Chen Si: Recently, The World is a Prop for Self-adjustment, edited by you, was published. As far as I know, it should create a new type of Xue Mo's literary works: the essence of Xue Mo's works. It is a comprehensive corpus that extracts all Xue Mo's works (including prose), and then summarizes, classifies and refines them according to modern people's needs and reading habits. My own feeling is that this book has an auxiliary reading function, which is not only convenient for carrying and browsing at any time, but also convenient for readers to fully understand the culture carried by this book-the big handprint culture. I like this book myself, and I think it must be very convenient for readers who like the refined language of Xue Mo's works. Could you please talk about the origin of editing this book?

Master Yin Shin: I came into contact with the big handprint culture through the book "Big Handprint Repairing the Heart" (Gansu Nationalities Publishing House), which can be said to be an important opportunity to change my destiny. After reading this book at that time, I benefited a lot. It changed my world outlook, outlook on life and values, and made great changes in my body and mind. Because I think this book is particularly good, I want to recommend it to my friends around me. But because people are too busy now, many people will resist at the sight of dense words, and they will feel unfathomable and afraid at the first sight of many unfamiliar words in books. At that time, I felt it was a pity to miss such a good culture, especially to let such a good culture be buried. So I have always wanted to compile it into a series that conforms to the reading habits of contemporary people. This is the earliest origin.

In addition, with more and more works by Xue Mo, there are ten Yu Ben in the series of Bright Handprints, which are published one after another. For some readers, especially new readers, it is really not easy to read all the books at once, so it will bring great benefits to these readers to extract the essence of life wisdom from more than a dozen books one by one and then compile them into books. In addition, these refined language thoughts have condensed Mr. Xue Mo's life experience and thinking, and readers can even read Mr. Xue Mo in one breath through this short book.

Chen Si: I have a special feeling when reading this book, because you are different from the general editor or editor-in-chief. You are a person who really benefited from the big handprint culture and realized "going home" spiritually. You came here to compile this book. I think it has a different meaning, and I can feel that this book has placed your deep blessing on readers. Can you talk about "the world is a prop for self-adjustment" in your own eyes?

Master Yin Shin: At the beginning of editing this book, I was always worried that the whole book would be extracted from refined language and would be boring to read. So I made a comparison with many soul yoga books on the market. I found that although there are many such books on the market, most of them are more gimmicks than substance, which may make people feel a little reasonable after reading them. But words like "The world is a prop to adjust the heart" can really make people understand that I have read these excerpts for more than ten times in the process of editing, but I don't feel bored every time I reread them. On the contrary, every time I get new inspiration and benefits, I am impressed by the wisdom of the big handprint. The content of this little book seems thin, but in fact it contains a huge treasure of wisdom.

Chen Si: When you were editing this book, you divided Mr. Schumer's works into three parts: first, impermanence; Second, cultivate love; Third, transcend suffering. Each part has wonderful classified excerpts, which are directed at people's hearts. It is easy for people to feel the touch of a soul, and then get enlightenment and understand the meaning behind the three titles you extracted. Excuse me, did you practice these three steps?

Master Yin Shin: Yes, when I edited this book, I took my own experience from touching the big handprint culture to realizing the changes in my heart and life as a clue.

Chen Si: In the first part of Viewing Impermanence, you raised three topics: First, life and death are impermanent; Second, choice, value and destiny; Third, desire, sin and repentance. I found that these three points are actually closely related. Because we have discovered death and impermanence, after knowing life, it is possible to understand the true value of life and its relationship with fate, and then make real choices. Then, we will find our sins and desires in the past choices and behaviors, produce deep remorse, and produce a different choice and behavior. Then, our lives will be reshuffled, and the second "Cultivating Love" and the third "Beyond Suffering" will appear one after another. Therefore, behind this "simple" first step, there is actually a very rich connotation and significance. If there is a correct guidance here, we will definitely put something down when we are awake and get a kind of happiness when we are awake. But now there is also a view that people will be very happy if they don't think too much about life and care about some puzzles in their souls. What do you think of this view? Or, how do you understand the "simple" attitude?

Master Yin Shin: Many people are lucky about suffering and impermanence, and always feel that "it will not happen to me". So even if impermanence is always around him, he will only sigh others, and will not think about whether he will be the next object to be lamented by others. However, impermanence will not happen to anyone just because you don't think about it. Therefore, the happiness of those who think they don't think too much and don't care about the confusion of souls is actually a kind of fragile, fearful and uneasy happiness, not real happiness, because this happiness will disappear at any time when impermanence comes, and it will be replaced by great pain, only complaining and asking, "Why did it happen to me?" But all this is useless to the pain itself.

This is what Mr Xue Mo often says. Many people only know how to choose when they have no choice, but it is not clear how much significance they can achieve when they choose at that time. Therefore, the difference between a wise man and an ordinary person is that a wise man doesn't have to go through impermanence to see the truth of everything, to start thinking about the problems of life and to know how to make a choice. What's more sad is that when the wise men tell the world their own ideas and truths, most people will feel that they have nothing to do with them. At least for now, they will still focus all their attention on pursuing their immediate desires and enjoyment, but many people don't expect that it may be too late to make any changes when they are really "related to themselves".

Chen Si: The first point of the second part ("cultivating love") is culture, knowledge and wisdom. Excuse me, does this mean that they are the basis of "cultivating love"? In addition, can you please talk about the process of practicing love? We know that in the process of cultivating love, you made a choice that ordinary people can't make, that is, let go of your little love, choose a purely religious life, and also made many corresponding altruistic behaviors. Including "The World is a Self-adjusting Prop" edited by you during your illness, donate 300,000 yuan to Guangzhou Xiangba Cultural Research Institute, and set up a "Big Handprint Special Fund" for the research, dissemination and promotion of traditional culture, and so on. Could you please talk about the reasons for these behaviors and choices?

Master Yin Shin: The culture, knowledge and wisdom here are mainly to let a person know his own soul. Only when he has a soul can he further ask about the meaning and value of living, and he can talk about "cultivating love". The so-called "cultivating love" is actually the process of sublimating life, that is, reducing self, greed, hatred and selfishness day by day, and making yourself more broad, tolerant and compassionate day by day.

Because I am the beneficiary of the big handprint culture, everything I do is contributing to the spread of the big handprint culture, and I hope more people can bathe in its wisdom and coolness.

Chen Si: In the content of "cultivating love", besides culture, knowledge and wisdom, some very beautiful keywords are mentioned, such as dream, love and kindness. Now the whole society is talking about these topics, including the "culture" you mentioned, but there are many specious things in it, which makes people feel a kind of confusion of values. Moreover, these most beautiful emotions and pursuits in the depths of human souls have been conceptualized and productized, and they have become tools and gimmicks for businessmen to make profits, which is a bit disgusting. Therefore, I think the cultural concept of great goodness spread by this work has the function of recasting value. What do you think of this problem?

Master Yin Shin: Yes, as a matter of fact, words like "dream", "love" and "kindness" are often mentioned in contemporary society, but they are just the shell of words, without actual connotation and spirit. So most people actually don't know the real meaning and meaning behind these words, just some conceptual statements and understanding with the flow. These emotions need to be felt and experienced with heart, but modern people's hearts are full of desires, and in the process of pursuing desires and enjoyment, values are seriously distorted. Don't say that these emotions are difficult to enter the numb hearts of modern people. Even if you feel these emotions, they are actually distorted, far from "the best emotions and pursuits in the depths of human souls." For example, in the eyes of most people, "happiness" is the feeling after the desire is satisfied; The premise of "love" is to love yourself, and then talk about loving others; There must be some purpose behind "kindness" ... I think this book is very valuable for the public whose values are generally vague at present, especially for teenagers whose values are still blank.

Chen Si: In my opinion, the third book of this book (Sweet Comes with Bitterness) is the most unique cultural concept of "Big Handprint" and one of the most unique values of Xue Mo's works. Its attitude towards suffering not only has the unique dignity of western traditional culture, but also has positive elements that traditional culture does not have, that is, people should not only dare to bear their own destiny, but also enjoy and benefit from it, let life shine and change their own destiny. I think this is one of the things you have the most say in. So I really want you to talk about your changes on this point, that is to say, how did you view suffering before you came into contact with the big handprint culture? What about suffering? In addition, what is the most important reason for you to transcend suffering? Do you think the readers of this book may have such a change? If possible, what is the key?

Master Yin Shin: Before I came into contact with the big handprint culture, I had no pain at all. At that time, my mind was ignorant, and my heart was full of desire, enjoyment and material things ... my eyes only saw my eyes. However, when I was in trouble, my first thought was to avoid it. For example, I actually knew that I had physical problems long ago, but I was afraid to face the reality, so I never went to the hospital for examination. When I went to have a physical examination almost a year later, it was already in the terminal stage of cancer. Later, the big handprint culture gave me a new understanding of suffering. For me, the suffering I experienced is actually the greatest help in my life. Without suffering, it is difficult to force me to change my destiny. Let me put down a lot of persistence, sublimate my life and make some contributions to society. This is what suffering means to me.

I think the most important thing to transcend suffering is inner understanding. Only when you understand and see through the essence of pain can you talk about transcending it. I hope this book can inspire readers in this respect.

Chen Si: In the "Beyond Suffering" section of this book, there is a section devoted to noble people, good knowledge and wise men, which shows their importance. I want to ask, what role does good knowledge play in your life? How can one find the most important person and great knowledge in life? Why do some people never meet?

Master Yin Shin: The most important good knowledge in my life is Mr. Xue Mo. Without Mr Xue Mo, I wouldn't be where I am today. He extended the length of my life with compassion and wisdom, enhanced the value of my life, and sublimated my life. Good knowledge is the most important role in my life, even more important than my own knowledge.

When a person is in doubt, he will look for his noble people. As long as he doesn't lose the doubt in his heart, he will find it. I have never met the knowledge of Great Goodness in my life. Is it because he "hides his eyes from Mount Tai"? Just as many people will ask the successful person in front of them where to find the successful person, the sun is clearly on his head, but the blind person does not know that he is in the sun.

Chen Si: Thank you for your interview. Please send a message to the readers of this book.

Master Yin Shin: I hope every reader can find his own needs from this little book, and I hope it can bring coolness, happiness and understanding to everyone!
