We all know that life lies in movement. But some people ask, why do most of the long-lived elderly people do not insist on physical exercise throughout their lives? It is believed that the highest state of life is rest, and few animals that like sports live long (including primate athletes). Some people also deny the significance of sports on the basis that few famous athletes live long lives. So, the question is, is exercise not necessarily beneficial to longevity? Which of these two views is right or wrong?
Are most of the long-lived elderly people who do not insist on physical exercise throughout their lives?
The author disagrees with this view for the following three reasons.
(1) First of all, is this view supported by authoritative research data? There are no authoritative papers or research results to prove this point of view.
(2) Secondly, this view makes the definition of physical exercise absolute. Physical exercise actually includes a variety of sports. Walking is exercise, square dancing is exercise, playing basketball is exercise, farmer uncles working in the fields are exercise, and migrant workers working on construction sites are also exercise. Workers' labor is more sustainable and more beneficial to physical health than simple physical exercise.
(3) Third, longevity is determined by many factors and does not entirely depend on physical exercise. Physical exercise or exercise is only one factor that affects human longevity.
How can we live a long and healthy life?
