Chongqing Zoo is located in Yangjiaping, Jiulongpo District, covering an area of 410,000 square meters, and is the larger comprehensive park in Chongqing. The park was built in 1954, the original name of the West District Park, after 1958 to display animals, so it changed its current name. The park is surrounded by hills, bamboo and trees, green grass, flowers, and the green Peach Blossom Stream flows around the park.
There are more than 20 animal museums, keeping more than 150 kinds of animals, more than 1,200, including rare animals such as giant pandas, red pandas, golden monkeys, white iron langurs, twisted horned sheep, horned horses and turkeys, etc. The park is also the National South China Tiger Breeding Center. The park is also the population base of the National South China Tiger Breeding Center. The park also has an artificial lake, small islands, curved bridges, scenic pavilions connected to the lake, the lake is widely raised birds and fish. The park also has a children's playground, roller skating rink, open-air stage, reading room, restaurant, tea garden.
