In the 11th century, Huangzhou, the place that generously hosted Su Dongpo, was a desolate place. The connection between the desolate Huangzhou and the outside world is an old stagecoach road. Although Huangzhou is far away, after all, it gave Su Dongpo a chance to take a breather, so that he could slowly adapt to the darkness in front of him. Su Dongpo stumbled all the way to Huangzhou.
"The relegation of Huangzhou, the biggest blow to Su Shi. Because before this, he was smooth sailing, no such encounter. Relegated to Huangzhou, he thought his life was over."
Because there is nowhere to stay, the abbot of Dinghuiyuan lent Su Dongpo a dusty hut, and the shocked Su Dongpo stayed closed all day. Su Dongpo said in a letter to a friend: Since being relegated to Huangzhou, no one has written a letter to my friends and relatives; even if I wrote to them, I could not receive any reply.
Late at night when he woke up, in the bone-deep loneliness, Su Dongpo wrote a "Diviner's Tale": the lack of moon hanging sparse tung, the leakage breaks the first quiet. Who see the ghosts alone to and fro, drifting lonely shadow. I was surprised to see that no one was there to save me from my hatred. I'm not sure if I'm going to be able to do that, but I'm going to be able to do it," he said.

So, Su Dongpo went into the Anguo Temple. After that, every one or two days, Su Dongpo went to Anguo Temple to meditate. He had a profound view and reflection on his life.

Su Shi called this piece of land 'Dongpo'. This Dongpo is actually not his own invention, but came from Bai Juyi. When Bai Juyi was an official in Zhongzhou, Sichuan, he also had a piece of land at this east gate, where he planted flowers. Su Shi always admired Bai Juyi, so he named this piece of land 'Dongpo', and he himself was called Dongpo Jushi.

"Because that piece of land is not considered good land, good land is not your turn to plant, then planting barley on it is undoubtedly his last choice. People do not eat barley, brewing beer is used. But Su Shi planted this barley, barley has an advantage, the requirements of the land is not high, easier to grow."
"Looking at the farmer outside the farmland, think it is an idyllic view. But reclaiming it yourself, being a farmer knows that actually doing something in the farmland is hard work."
Su Dongpo bought a cow, and hoes, sickles and other farming tools. It was a farmer's pen, ink, and paper, only this time it wasn't for aesthetic purposes, it was for survival.
The real local farmer had great goodwill toward Su Dongpo. As Su Dongpo labored in his farmland, a farmer ran to him and told him that if he wanted a good harvest, he would have to let the cows and sheep nibble on the wheat seedlings.
"If the wheat seedlings grow too well, pull too much fertility, the next year that will not grow well. This year, we should let the cattle eat, cattle trampled, the seedlings pressed down. Su Shi really did just what the old farmer said."
This is the most moving moment in the field, Su Dongpo's family was busy harvesting wheat. On this once rubble-strewn wilderness, he ushered in the first season of golden wheat.

In ancient China, the literati were known for "laughing and joking with the great scholars, no white men", but Su Dongpo described himself as "accompanied by the Jade Emperor, and accompanied by the beggar in the courtyard of the lowly field". "Su Shi ran to the outskirts of the city at night and drank at his Dongpo. But in Huangzhou, he just turned himself into a peasant and made many small mistakes. When Su Dongpo was relegated to Huangzhou, his old friend Chen Qian lived in seclusion here.

"I often tell my friends, if I want to go on a trip, I don't want to be with Li Bai, who is irresponsible and has no sense of reality; and with Du Fu, he's too bitter, I'm afraid he's too serious. But Su Dongpo is just fine, I can be a good friend with him. He is really a very interesting person."
