Yu Qian, Han nationality, was born on January 24, 1969 in Beijing, with an ancestral home in Lantian, Shaanxi. He is a comedian, vice president of the Beijing Rock and Roll Association, and ambassador for promoting children's equestrianism at the Beijing Equestrian Cultural Festival.?
In 1982, he enrolled in a comedy class and studied under comedians Wang Shichen, Luo Rongshou, Gao Fengshan and Zhao Shizhong during his school years. 1985, he studied under Mr. Shi Fukuan. 1995, he graduated from the Film and Television Directing Department of Beijing Film Academy.
He began performing comedy with Guo Degang in 2000, and then participated in the TV series "Nine Nine Returns to One".In 2001, he appeared in the TV series "The World's First Ugly", and then participated in the TV series "Dr. Sun Yat-sen".In 2010, he starred in the movie "Three Laughing Talents", and then he partnered with Guo Degang to appear on the stage of the Spring Festival Gala in 2013.
In January 2016, he participated in the second season of Joyful Comedians on Oriental TV. In May of the same year, he served as a mentor for Hubei Satellite TV's "I'm Wild About Comedy Season 3". in October, he joined Zhejiang Satellite TV's "Total Comedy".?

In 1982, Yu Qian enrolled in the Beijing Opera School's comedy class and studied under comedians Wang Shichen, Luo Rongshou, Gao Fengshan, and Zhao Shizhong during his time at the school, as well as under comedian artist Shi Fuquan.
In 1995, Yu Qian graduated from the college class of the Film and Television Directing Department of the Beijing Film Academy, after which he took part in the shooting of the TV series "Ma Sanli", playing the role of Zhao Peiru, and then appeared in the TV series "Xiaojing Hutong", playing the role of Fei Zi in 1996, and at the same time served as a program writer, director, and host of a long-term program for the China Central Television (CCTV), Beijing Television (BTV), and local TV.
Yu Qian and Guo Degang met on several performance occasions between 1997 and 1998. In 2000, Yu Qian and Guo Degang performed the comic duet "Shackling Dolls" on a stage in an open-air square in one of Beijing's suburbs. This accidental collaboration has given rise to a strong appreciation for each other.
