The Xi Clan Ancestral Hall in the south of Lingxi Village is brightly lit and noisy. It was already midnight when we finished paying homage to our ancestors, and with the sound of several firecrackers, the traditional village festival "Scholar's Parade" began. People in the village also opened their homes to watch this annual "Scholar Parade". The "Scholar Street" is not the Scholar out to play, but the Palace Scholar out to play a way of amusement.
In the winter of the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty, the village came back to an official in the imperial court, his name is Xi inter-heng. He served as a reviewer in the Hanlin Academy, and also served as the Ministry of War, clean and honest officials, by the Qianlong Emperor's appreciation. He brought a page of handwritten music to the Xi clan in the village, saying that it was the "Scholar's Parade". The village people looked at each other with puzzled faces. It turns out that in the time of leaving Beijing to return to his hometown, the emperor summoned him to give with the treasure to bring back to his hometown so as to honor his ancestors. Xi adults, however, said: the emperor, such as honest treatment in the minister, please give the palace "scholar parade. The emperor froze, and then quickly agreed. Since then, Lingxi Village's Lantern Festival night, there will be a unique "Scholar parade. Lingxi Village's "Scholar parade" is divided into martial arts scholar parade, literary scholar parade. If the parade of Scholar Wushuyuan is full of dynamics and intensity, such as gongs and drums, lion dances, dragon dances, boxing, sword playing, sword dances and lanterns ......, then the parade of Scholar Wushuyuan is full of tenderness and elegance, with erhu, sanxian, flute, pipa, guzheng and other musical instruments to play the "parade of Scholar Wushuyuan". "The court song.
The procession of "Scholar's Parade" starts from the ancestral hall and slowly circles the village road. Elegant as is the heavenly court music, in this ancient village rang lightly and sometimes heavily. In the early years, if there was a happy event in the village, the "Scholar Parade" would go in and make a lot of noise to show their congratulations, and the people who had a happy event would also bring some gifts to show their appreciation; if there were many happy events in the village, the "Scholar Parade" would return to the Ancestral Hall when the rooster was crowing, and the sky was already dark. When the procession of "Scholar Parade" returned to the ancestral hall, the rooster crowed and the sky was already white. The moon was high in the sky, and the procession of "Scholar's Parade" was far away in the night, and the melodious music seemed to be still curling around on the pebble-paved canals in the village for a long time. Looking up at the night sky of the village, there was a kind of shock in my heart, and the shock was not how powerful the lion dance of the "Scholar Parade" was, nor how elegant the tune was, but the Xi clan's adherence to it for more than two hundred years, and the inheritance for more than two hundred years. No matter how hard their lives are, no matter how much hardship they encounter, these simple Xi clansmen have stood firm. Every year on the night of the Lantern Festival, the familiar gongs and drums and the familiar tunes are played on the long and narrow tunnel. They are not only holding on to a part of their ancestors' cultural heritage, but also to an indomitable humanistic spirit.
The "Scholar's Parade" in Sanhe Town has been listed as one of the second batch of intangible cultural heritages in Taizhou.
