Guangzhou is a city with a lot of connotation, as an old guy who has lived in Guangzhou for more than twenty years, slightly share those places in Guangzhou that attract me to friends who may come to play in Guangzhou.
Guangzhou is a city with mountains both inside and outside the city, although these mountains are not famous all over the world, but they are places where you can find nature in your daily life at any time. Inside the city there is Yuexiu Mountain, a small mountain that can almost tell the history of Guangzhou for more than 2,000 years. With the expansion of the city, Baiyun Mountain, which was originally outside the city, is also surrounded by the city. In Baiyun Mountain, there are places like the Peak Park, which is like a downtown, as well as places like Dishuiyan and Shuangxi, which are paradises in the world. There are even more mountains outside the city, with Dafeng Mountain and Hafeng Mountain, all great places to visit.
Guangzhou is a place with a lot of water. The Pearl River Delta is probably one of the more unusual deltas in the country. The Pearl River system runs from the west, north, and east to Guangzhou and enters the sea, splitting into many waterways that enter the sea, and within the city there is the Pearl River which is a big river, but there are also countless small rivers and springs, and there is also the sea outside of the city. When you go to Shamian, Changzhou Island, Xiaozhou Village, Shamian Village, and Nancun of University City to stroll around the scenery, these rivers are also very beautiful scenery.
Guangzhou is an ancient city with quite a lot of cultural relics. The oldest to be unearthed various relics of the South Vietnam, to the Middle Ages, there is the Islamic Gwangta, South China Sea Temple, Buddhist Guangxiao Temple, Six Banyan Temple, modern times there are a number of churches of Christianity such as Shilu Catholic Church, Wanmu Cao Tang in the late Qing Dynasty, Kangliang from here to the world, it is also the base camp of Sun Yat-sen's revolution, Huanghuagang seventy-two martyrs tomb solemn, the former site of the Whampoa Military Academy, Guangzhou Huanghuagang seventy-two martyrs tomb solemn, Huangpu Military Academy old site, Guangzhou Martyrs Mausoleum, the famous anti-Japanese army nineteen road army and the new first army mausoleum are enough to let a person stand in awe.
Guangzhou also has many museums. The Guangdong Provincial Museum, Guangzhou Municipal Museum, Nan Yue King's Tomb Museum, Nan Yue King's Palace Museum, Thirteen Houses Museum, Guangdong Customs Museum, Guangdong Museum of Revolutionary History, Liwan District Museum, Guangzhou Art Museum and many more are worth exploring.
Guangzhou has preserved a number of old towns and villages where you can get a glimpse of a more authentic Lingnan culture. The most famous old towns are Xiguan and Dongshankou in the Yuexiu District. The buildings in Xiguan are Xiguan houses with distinctive Lingnan characteristics, while the buildings in Dongshankou are Western-style villas, both of which are full of artistic and literary styles. The more famous ancient villages are Xiaozhou Village, which is a Lingnan water village scenery, and Sham Tseng Village. Huangpu Ancient Village, on the other hand, was once home to the world-famous Guangzhou Harbor. Nowadays, the harbor scenery is no longer there, but the status of an ancient Lingnan water town village has made it a crowded tourist destination again. On the Panyu side, there is the even better preserved Shawan Ancient Town.
Guangzhou Shamian Island is the former Guangzhou Concession, in fact, can be counted in the category of the old city, where the area of the Concession, although not comparable to the area of the Concession in Shanghai, Wuhan, Tianjin and Qingdao, but is the epitome of the last thousand years of Guangzhou as China's most important port.
Guangzhou also has a very hot tourist attraction, the Panyu Xiangjiang Wild Animal World, which is indeed a good place to get acquainted with the animal world and to play.
Guangzhou is also a city with more bookstores and creative parks. Bookstores include 1200 bookstores that stay open 24 hours a day, Xueyou Bookstore, Xiaogutang Bookstore, Xixifu Bookstore, Fuguang Bookstore, Downing Bookstore, the once-existing Borges Bookstore, and perhaps the Guangzhou Book Purchase Center, which are all unforgettable. Creative parks include 53 Art Center, Old Stuff Warehouse, Redtory, 1850, TIT and Xinyi Hall.
As for the infamous Eat in Guangzhou and Guangzhou Shopping, they are easily searchable, so I won't ramble on.
