History:
After textual research, the name "Dalian" comes from "Dalian Bay". Dalian Bay consists of many small bays, including Qingniwa Bridge, Luxiang Reef, Ganjingzi, Dagushan and Yu Nian Bay.
"Dalian Bay" first appeared in the literature and appeared in the memorial of Li Hongzhang, the minister of Beiyang in 1880 (the sixth year of Guangxu in Qing Dynasty) on the construction plan of Dalian Bay military port. At first, "Luda" was the collective name of Lushun and Dalian Bay. Later, "Lvda City" was the collective name of Lushun and Dalian. In the 13th year of Guangxu (1887), Shang He Island and its nearby harbors built large-scale coastal defense plank roads and battery facilities. After the Sino-Japanese War of 1894-1895, these coastal defense facilities were abandoned, and many fishing boats used them as docks for trade, gradually forming a spontaneous mass fishing port.
By 1930s, it had developed into a famous seafood distribution center at that time. After liberation, it became an important aquatic product base in New China. After several constructions, Asian fishing ports have gradually developed into home ports with more than a dozen docks and thousands of fishing boats, and become the most famous aquatic product processing center and distribution center in Northeast Asia. The throughput of seafood plays an important role in China and even the world.
