Cotton Candy [katncandix2], born on the streets on May 30, 2007, is a two-person group formed by leader Shen Shengzhe (沈聖哲), as well as vocalist Zhuang Juanying (小球). The reason for their street origins began with the fact that Cotton Candy [katncandix2] were approved street performers by the Taipei City Cultural Affairs Bureau, and started performing on the streets, flying bravely towards their musical dreams! Wanting to be a musician, wanting to sing well and make a record doesn't necessarily mean that you have to go on a TV competition or wait for a record The company's favor, as long as there is a work, through the recording, arranging, mixing (into the studio or computer recording can be), design and packaging and other post-production process, the completion of the master, and then go to the press production, it is the same as the artist out of the film.
My friends Zhe (Shen Shengzhe) and Xiaoqiu (Zhuang Juanying), recently completed independently <Cotton Candy katncandix2EP[2375]>, a very fresh, nice city ballad, as cotton candy, sweet, gently, lick a mouthful of it, so that the face ripples with a smile. They first wrote and practiced their songs, then took the exam for "street performer" and performed on the streets under the name of "Cotton Candy", which is not a famous name, but they still decided to record an EP to share their good songs and good music with more people.
The first song, "2375," features a very clean, natural vocal performance, with a touching interpretation of feelings that is not contrived, and a guitar arrangement by Mao Zhenwen (who plays guitar with ease) that lays out the atmosphere in just the right way. The "2" Xiaoqiu interprets the relationship between the two in a childish voice, and you can hear the innocence of youthful love, paired with a cute computerized arrangement, overflowing with cartoon-like joy; "Your Power", with strings and piano accompaniment, is a standard pop song, but you can also hear the mature voice of Xiaoqiu, who demonstrates a wide range and a variety of tones, and a wealth of interpretation capabilities; I think it can be compared to Wei Ruohua's "The Power". ability; I think it can be comparable to Wei Ruxuan, and also to Ivana Wang.
Producer Zhe has given the singer three different styles in a small EP, and hearing Xiaoqiu's use of different vocal registers reveals her endless potential. Although it is three songs, but there are intro and outro, it is obvious that there exists a complete concept, outro "happy flowers": "happy flowers have bloomed, and we do not cry", only 39 seconds, but let me feel that the rhyme is infinite. I read on msn that Zhe said the "Cotton Candy" EP was going to be published, so I hurriedly ordered it with him and got my own number. The "Cotton Candy" EP turned out to be a kind of blog marketing technique. After listening to it, I chose the number of the release that was meaningful to me, and pre-ordered it on the message board, and the response was very good. This tactic, the golden song king A Di Zai himself out of the film also used, and Zhe is A Di Zai's production assistant.
What taught me to be surprised was that Chieh and Ball also doubled as couriers, running all over Taipei to deliver the freshly-released EP, and both of them also showed up at my door and handed me the EP, which I paid for with an indescribable sense of wonder and joy. It warmed my heart to buy a record in the middle of winter, with the producer and singer personally delivering it to my house, and it was the most refreshing and cozy experience I've ever had buying a record.
