Daiyu was bored at first, but later realized the meaning of handkerchief, and wrote a poem full of affection and thoughts. At this time, we are confused. What does Baoyu mean by sending a handkerchief? Why did Daiyu realize that everyone wanted to break their heads? Only people in love can understand? Jade and jade are clear, others don't understand.
So looking for this context, I still haven't seen Cao Gong's relevant explanation. So I was puzzled. Suddenly, I was full of interest and asked why. Perhaps this is the genius of Cao Gong, which makes everyone daydream and have endless aftertaste. After all, classic things are always so different.
I think there are three reasons:
Daiyu and Baoyu
First Baoyu gave Daiyu a promise.
In ancient times, there was a tradition of giving each other intimate things, and expressing feelings by giving each other small gifts. In "Do You Know", I lost my handkerchief, leaving the Sheng family in a mess, for fear that the woman of the Sheng family would do something immoral and lose the face of the Sheng family. It can be seen that exchanging handkerchiefs is of great significance to men.
In A Dream of Red Mansions, Xiaohong also gave Jia Yun a handkerchief as a token of love, but in order to make a difference, Cao Gong asked Baoyu to confuse it with two old handkerchiefs, in order to tell Daiyu: You must understand my heart, I cherish my old feelings with you, and I will always treat you equally, so don't worry. Imagine how clever Daiyu is. How could she not know Baoyu's mind?
Daiyu and Baoyu
The second is Baoyu's reassurance to Daiyu.
It is obvious that Daiyu is jealous. Sister Bao, who looks beautiful, takes good care of Baoyu, and Sister Yun, who is lively and charming, is inseparable from Baoyu. Baochai has a golden collar that never leaves, and Xiangyun has a jade unicorn that matches Baoyu's Yu Pei. This does not make Daiyu jealous. It's really hard.
Moreover, Daiyu fell ill when she came back from Qingxu Pass, which shows that her heart was greatly impacted. Why didn't Baoyu know Daiyu's mind? The two have broken each other's hearts and failed to reassure Daiyu. For this reason, Baoyu sent a handkerchief, which means: I am afraid that you will get sick. If you cry, let this handkerchief try to cry for you. ...
"Old Pa" is homophonic for fear, which shows Baoyu's good intentions.
Daiyu and Baoyu
Third, Baoyu's love for Daiyu.
Most of the handkerchiefs of the ancients were made of silk, and another meaning of giving handkerchiefs is: thinking about the future horizontally and thinking vertically, which naturally means acacia. The expression of the ancients is indeed implicit, but we can also see a lot of interest from it.
So when Daiyu understood Baoyu's lovesickness, she suddenly realized that her heart was red and she was so excited that she was shocked.
"Three quatrains of Tipo"
Eyes are empty, tears are empty, but who are you throwing away for?
How can a person not be sad when he has worked hard to give gifts?
Throwing pearls and rolling jade only steals, the town has no intention of relaxing.
It is difficult to wipe the sleeves on the pillow, so he is set on fire and stained.
Beads on the colorful line are hard to collect, and the old traces of Xiangjiang River have been blurred.
Thousands of bamboos in front of the window, no fragrance?
Acacia is everywhere, and Baoyu's acacia handkerchief is enough to make Daiyu doomed.
There is also a saying that Baoyu returned the old handkerchief, that is, Daiyu threw Baoyu two handkerchiefs before, and Baoyu only returned her handkerchief now. This explanation is too far-fetched, because it only looks at the superficial phenomenon without combining the situation at that time, and it is not convincing enough.
