A long time ago, I heard that "How Steel is Made" is a good book worth reading. As the saying goes, I read this great book not long ago.
There aren't a lot of books about revolution, but I've dabbled in a few, but this book had the biggest impact on me. The main character of this book is a young man named "Paul Kochakin". When he was twelve or three years old, his mother sent him to the school. Paul's family was very poor, his mother worked as a servant, his brother was an electrician, and his father died very young. So, going to the school was a very rare opportunity for Paul's family. However, because of Paul's unfairness to the teaching staff, he felt very resentful of the teaching staff for making things difficult for him, and thus made a series of retaliatory acts. Soon, he was expelled from the school. Due to the helplessness of life, his mother sent him to a restaurant to work as a fellow. There, he worked for more than a year, and it was there that he saw the darkness of society, the lowest level of society. It was a hell on earth. Then, with the help of his brother, he was transferred to a power plant as an electrician. There, he met a sailor named Juhlai. At his place, Paul was exposed to a series of new things, about the regiment, the party and the revolution. Some days later, Paul got a pistol by chance and left his mother and brother and the home where he grew up in order to escape from killing an enemy. From that moment on, he joined the revolution. For the next eight years, he was passionate about the revolutionary cause. Although it was only eight years, it was too insignificant for life. However, compared to some people's lives, these eight years were more precious than if someone had lived three lifetimes. Time and again the disease haunted him and he overcame it again and again. Later, he suffered a broken nerve, which led to the paralysis of his lower limbs and blindness in both eyes. But he still used what little life he had to write a middle grade novel "Born of the Storm". For Paul, can write this book is a miracle. Because he had only read for three years. In the past, when he wrote an essay, there were always dozens of rhetorical problems, but after a few years of reading a lot of books, he accomplished a miracle for him. When the book was published, his life burned anew.
Of course, the book is a bit of a stretch for many of us nowadays, and that's not hard to understand. Because we live in a time of peace, however, such a spirit can still continue. How is steel made? Just like Paul, for the cause of the revolution to the end, no matter how great the difficulties, how great the setbacks will not give in. This is called indomitable. Of course, we do not have a war here now, but there are many difficulties in life, although not big, but we still need to use our spirit to overcome them, I like a passage in the book:
"The most precious thing is life. Life is only once for everyone. A man's life should be spent in such a way that when he remembers the past, he will not regret his wasted years, nor will he be ashamed of his inactivity; and on his deathbed, he will be able to say: 'My whole life and all my energies have been devoted to the most magnificent cause in the world, the struggle for the liberation of mankind.' Man should hasten and live life to the fullest, for an unexpected illness or a tragic accident can suddenly end his life at any time."
Don't be afraid of life. It is like a spring; if you are strong it is weak and if you are weak it is strong.
Read <<Childhood>> and feel
I was amazed at Gorky's courage: he recalled in such detail and even with a kind of self-deprecating humor his dark and sordid and despairing childhood.
The boy Alexei, who lost his father at a very young age and lived in his grandfather's house, grew up in the midst of all the evils of mankind: violence, insults, revenge and all kinds of unspeakable filth. It was like a dark corner where even the sunlight was shunned, and where the evil flooded into a foul-smelling river. Three-year-old pure and untainted by any sin, the little boy Alexei, angelic Alexei, seems to have committed some unforgivable sins and offended God, so that God in a fit of anger mercilessly threw him into this dirty stinking water, so that he can grow up in the absurd and barbaric situation, somewhat of a taste of self-perpetuation.
So Alexei, a three-year-old boy, trudges off on a search through the darkness of life. We can take comfort in the fact that a kindly guardian deity has emerged around the self-perpetuating Alexei, and that years of living in such dark corners has fortunately not made her heart as dark. The God she had worshiped all her life had kept her with a pure heart until her death. The appearance of her grandmother in Alexei's pain-filled life brought a brilliant sunshine in the darkness that brightened little Alexei's life. Whenever violence and evil intruded and tried to corrupt his pure heart, Grandmother always appeared at the right time and drove away the darkness with God and all that is bright and beautiful. Grandmother carefully cared for her grandson's heart, hoping that he would grow up strong and healthy in spite of his harsh living conditions. When I saw her praising God and the Blessed Mother even when she suffered great pain; when I saw her calmly directing the fire in the midst of a fire; when I saw her accepting the beatings of her old man against her will; and when I saw her shedding tears as she held a few coins that her grandson had earned, I was completely touched, and I realized that the greatest love in the world is not only a mother's love, but also the love of a grandmother.
This was the first warm and brilliant sunshine I found in Alexei's dark life.
In fact I am amazed at myself as much as I am amazed at Gorky, because I didn't rightfully burst into tears at such a tear-jerking masterpiece. Yeah, yeah, I'm getting heartless. But when I read the chapter "Good Things", I was really touched. I think "good things" should be a hard-working and dedicated scientists, due to various reasons, life has become poor, only to live in Alexei's family's humble cottage. He is so absorbed in his scientific research that he has no time to pay attention to the gossip of others. Alexei, driven by curiosity, became friends with the Good Thing. The virtuous "Good Thing" instilled in Alexei pure thoughts, taught him to become a man who loves his country and will use it in the future. However, this brilliant and lonely scientist was called all sorts of ugly names in the eyes of the world, and finally had to leave Alexei's house alone under Kassilyn's expulsion, and Alexei was saddened by this. Both the "Good Thing" and the grandmother purified Alexei's mind, but the difference was that the grandmother's purification was based on vain beliefs, while the "Good Thing" educated him with advanced ideas and knowledge. Under their care, Alexei's heart is filled with hope and gratitude for the dirty society.
The second sunshine I found was full of wisdom and hope.
What I felt for the "good things" was sad. By portraying this image here, the writer wants to show the reader the ignorance of the people in the nineteenth century under the rule of the tsar and y criticizes it. "This is the book that wakes us up", indeed.
But more than anything else, the book moved me, and after that, y shocked me. I was shocked that in such a dirty society, there are still such kind people. They use their goodness to sensitize the people around them, moving the world around them, despite being beaten and scolded, they never complained. This is a kind of noble soul, they are God's angels, they are ordinary greatness.
Kindness, showing the character of a nation, the height of a nation!
Robinson Crusoe
When I solemnly turned over the last page, after reading the plot twists and turns, ups and downs of the story, I think I was really shocked by it. This book "Robinson Crusoe" is known as "the father of the English novel" Daniel Defoe wrote at the age of 59. Robinson, the main character, with high aspirations of traveling all over the world, crossed the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, and experienced countless dangers during the thrilling voyage. Later, the whole ship finally died in the Pacific Ocean, and he was the only one who could miraculously survive and came to a deserted and uninhabited island by himself. He got the revelation of life from the cracks of despair, and spent decades on the island in an instant. He worked and lived on the island, opened up the wasteland, raised livestock, produced rice and wheat, year after year with the companion of loneliness, and overcame all kinds of ordinary people can not overcome the difficulties. He has fought with wild beasts, and with savages who ate human flesh.
In the story, the strong and unyielding Robinson, with his own strength and some tools found in the hulk, built a shelter on the wasteland, planted wheat and grain, and also raised animals to complete the basic necessities of his life. He also encountered many difficulties and setbacks in the process, negative out hard labor. For example, it took almost a year to build his two-story walled house; when he sowed barley and rice for the first time, half of this valuable stock was wasted because it was not the right time for sowing; in order to dig a few cellars for storing fresh water, Robinson toiled for several months; in order to make a pot that could cook soup, he racked his brain and tried many ways, but also failed Countless times, before studying the manufacturing method; However, all of these difficulties, were Robinson's resilience, never give up the spirit of the conquest, this island every Robinson hand-made things, are cohesive with all of his heart and soul, and he will be happy because of every small success and indescribable. Whenever I see these fragments, my inner feeling can not only use a "admiration" to describe, I really was Robinson conquered to the ground.
After reading, I can't help but reflect on myself: If I am stranded on an island, how many days can I live? One day? Two days? What would I be able to do? Chop wood? Hunt and cook? I can't even wash my own clothes! Besides, it's lonely without someone to talk to! I'll die of suffocation! This shows how optimistic Robinson was! I think people should learn from his spirit of optimism, not afraid of difficulties, no matter when and where they are strong to live, even if there is only a ray of hope to fight, never give up! We have to be like Robinson has the ambition, perseverance, love of labor, with their own hands to create wealth, to achieve the final victory!
Although, I am a boy, but also have to admit their own weakness and incompetence, in their own lives, it is difficult to encounter setbacks, even if they encountered, mom and dad are always helping me, however, I simply do not realize the happiness of the family care is a great joy to look at Robinson's experience, so that I can imagine the hardship of his life on the island, experience his indomitable spirit of adventure, and even more so! I have rekindled my love of life.
Life is like a painting, some people paint the vitality of spring, the green shade of summer, the harvest of autumn, the hope of winter. But some people painted the spring of loneliness, summer anxiety, autumn bleak, winter sadness. The color of the painting all depends on the attitude of the painter towards life. Robinson's constant pursuit of life, the desire to socialize are derived from his immense love of life and the spirit of reverence.
