A patient recently complained to me that his wife forbade him to drink tea, saying that drinking tea would aggravate his high blood pressure. Say a lot of nice things, but it still doesn't work. As a middle-aged and elderly person without bad hobbies, drinking tea is one of the few hobbies. I'm here to prove whether you can drink tea for hypertension.
This problem can't be summed up in one sentence: patients with hypertension can drink tea, but drinking tea can't treat hypertension.
1. vitamins
Tea is rich in vitamins, including provitamin A (carotene), vitamin C, vitamin B, vitamin k 1, vitamin D, vitamin E and so on.
The effects of each vitamin are different. The effects related to cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases are as follows: ① Vitamin C can regulate the body's resistance and promote cholesterol excretion; ② Vitamin D can regulate fat metabolism and inhibit atherosclerosis; ③ B vitamins participate in fat metabolism and regulate heart activity.
4. Trace elements and minerals
Tea contains a variety of trace elements and minerals: potassium, phosphorus, calcium, magnesium, iron, copper, selenium and so on. These elements are basically essential trace elements for human body, which can regulate human metabolism, enhance the body's resistance, and achieve the effects of lowering blood pressure, lowering blood fat, lowering blood sugar, improving immunity and preventing and inhibiting cancer. Potassium ion, in particular, can excrete sodium and induce diuresis, thus indirectly lowering blood pressure.
3. Tea polyphenols
Tea polyphenols are the general name of polyphenols in tea, including flavonoids, flavonols, flavanols, glycopyrrolate and so on. Flavonol (catechin) is the most important. Catechins can enhance the toughness of blood vessels and make them not easy to rupture, which is one of the more important health care components in tea. Flavonoids can scavenge free radicals, resist oxidation and prevent aging. ...
Tea polyphenols have strong detoxification and anti-radiation effects, and are known as "radiation nemesis". They have anti-tumor, anti-virus, anti-oxidation, anti-radiation and other functions, and help to inhibit cardiovascular diseases, which plays an important role in human fat metabolism, thus achieving the functions of preventing thrombosis and reducing blood lipids.
4. Alkaloids
Theophylline can be divided into three types, mainly caffeine, followed by theophylline, which has obvious effects on exciting nerve center, refreshing mind and anti-fatigue. This is the purpose of most people drinking tea, and it can also strengthen the heart and diuresis. And its disadvantage, obviously, is the intense excitement in the brain center, which makes it difficult to sleep. Therefore, it is best not to drink strong tea or drink too much before going to bed, which is easy to cause urination.
5. Amino acids
The amino acid composition in tea is mainly theanine, which participates in the formation of various essential enzymes in human body, affects the metabolism of substances in the brain, improves the activity of dopamine in the brain, lowers blood pressure, calms nerves, improves sleep and improves people's memory.
sugar
Tea polysaccharide is the main component of sugar in tea and belongs to acidic glycoprotein. Modern medical research has proved that the most significant function of tea polysaccharide is to lower blood sugar, in addition, it can also anticoagulant, antithrombotic and regulate the body's immunity.
It can be seen that tea does contain substances that can lower blood pressure, such as potassium ions, but the content is too low to be the "main force" to lower blood pressure. Therefore, don't expect to lower your blood pressure by drinking tea.
① When the concentration of theophylline and caffeine in tea is too high, on the one hand, it will increase the heart rate and blood pressure and increase the burden on the heart; On the other hand, the ability of its excitement center will also be improved, so patients with hypertension should not drink too much tea, strong tea or before going to bed.
② The concentration of theophylline in black tea is relatively high, while that in green tea is relatively low. In addition, green tea can also lose weight and indirectly lower blood pressure. Therefore, patients with hypertension should not drink black tea, but green tea.
(3) Don't drink with drugs. Theophylline, tannin and other chemical components in tea can react with a variety of drugs (iron-containing drugs, protein drugs, sedatives and hypnotics, and a variety of traditional Chinese medicines), which may reduce the efficacy of drugs.
At present, in addition to traditional tea, substitute tea is becoming more and more popular. Traditional tea-making and tea-decocting are replaced by drugs with the same origin of traditional Chinese medicine and food or drugs with mild properties, so as to achieve the purpose of "treating diseases and strengthening the body."
Common raw materials of tea substitute for lowering blood pressure are mulberry leaves, chrysanthemum, lotus leaves, bitter gourd, corn stigma, apocynum venetum, cassia seed, Eucommia ulmoides and so on. The efficacy of these drugs can lower blood pressure, but the specific application is best based on the patient's own situation.
Hypertension, as the name implies, is human blood pressure, systolic blood pressure 140 or (and) diastolic blood pressure 90. Beyond this range, it will be controlled.
There are many reasons leading to hypertension, such as unhealthy diet (too much salt, too greasy), excessive smoking and drinking, frequent staying up late, irregular sleep, bad temper, easy to get angry, easy to be influenced by the outside world, and lack of exercise. These are the causes of high blood pressure.
However, the current research has not found the real cause of hypertension, but we can effectively prevent and intervene the main risk factors of hypertension and control the patients who have been diagnosed.
1. Pay attention to healthy eating
Special attention should be paid to daily eating habits, mainly light, to protect the elasticity and permeability of blood vessels and prevent arteriosclerosis.
High salt is one of the biggest risk factors for cardiovascular diseases such as hypertension. The Dietary Guide for China Residents suggests that adult edible salt should not exceed 6 grams per day, and everyone should pay more attention to the "invisible" salt in the diet: salt in daily condiments, pickles, snacks, etc.
On the other hand, you can't eat too much oil, because it provides essential amino acids and supplements calories, but too much oil can easily lead to obesity and increase the risk of cardiovascular and cerebrovascular diseases.
Step 2 Exercise moderately
Life lies in exercise. Both healthy people and patients with hypertension should keep on exercising. Exercise is the cornerstone of health. Do moderate exercise, don't rush for success because of high blood pressure or obesity, and do what you can. Do aerobic exercise three or five times a week, such as swimming, Tai Chi and square dance. Enjoy your body and mind.
3. Work and rest rules
Be sure to work and rest regularly, arrange the time of the day reasonably, don't arrange too many things at night, avoid staying up late and ensure adequate sleep. Staying up late is very harmful to the body, and the first thing to do is to cause abnormal vasoconstriction and high blood pressure.
4. Actively cooperate with prevention and control.
At present, the prevalence of hypertension is above 20%. China is a country with high blood pressure. Whether you have high blood pressure or not, you should develop the habit of regular physical examination and make records. Don't be afraid of trouble, so that once there is an abnormal situation, you can adjust the medicine in time to avoid serious illness.
5. Emotional control
People pay more and more attention to emotional management, which is not only because good emotions can reduce internal friction and improve the efficiency of work and life, but also the driving force of healthy life.
Pay attention to your mental state, don't be easily influenced by the outside world, keep a peaceful mind, remember the ups and downs, actively communicate with others, and spend every day happily and optimistically.
Hypertension as a chronic disease, its prevention and treatment is a long-term process, involving many aspects. It doesn't mean that drinking tea or eating certain foods can cure it. There is no such "magic medicine" at present. Through regular check-up, according to their own situation, doctors will formulate a reasonable treatment plan, so patients with hypertension can drink tea, but don't unrealistically want to reduce high blood pressure by drinking tea.
