Lyrics:
You are like a fire in that winter, a roaring flame that warms my heart.
Every time when you quietly approach me, the firelight illuminates me.
Your big eyes were bright and sparkling, as if they were the brightest of the stars in the sky.
You were like the fire, a roaring flame that warmed me.
You are like that one fire, the blazing flame illuminates me.
I didn't say anything to you even though I was rejoicing, and I knew you really liked me.
You are like that one fire, the blazing flame warms me.
You are like that one fire, the blazing flame illuminates me.
You are like that one fire, a blazing flame that illuminates me.
Expanded:
"A Fire in Winter" is a song originally sung by Taiwanese singer Gao Lingfeng, with lyrics by Zhuang Nu and music by solan sister, released in 1982.
The song was originally sung by The Nolans in 1980 as "sexy music". 1982, it was covered by Taiwanese singer Gao Lingfeng as "A Fire in the Winter". 1987, Fei Xiang sang the song at the CCTV Spring Festival Gala, and the song spread all over the country. It was later included in Fei Xiang's album "Hometown Clouds".
Born in an Air Force family village in Ganshan Township, Kaohsiung County (present-day Ganshan District, Kaohsiung City), Gao Lingfeng, whose real name is Ge Yuancheng, and whose ancestry is from Wuhan City, Hubei Province, is a Taiwanese rock singer, actor, and host.
He formed his first band in 1969, signed to Golin Records in 1974 and released his first Mandarin album Girlfriend, starred in his screen debut Scissor Wind in 1975, and released A Fire in the Winter in 1982, which became a classic track.
Gao Lingfeng is a more comprehensive entertainer, but not one who focuses on singing; in addition to being a singer, he is also an actor and host. He portrays the image of a badass young man, a very important symbolic figure in the process of Chinese idolization. He is very outspoken and often makes some very blunt statements about Taiwan's politics, and he impresses viewers with his hosting and talk shows.
