The original name of Lizhaicun was Chancheng. Located in Dongyang County, Jinhua City, Zhejiang Province, 10 kilometers away from Dongyang City, it is the largest village adjacent to the eastern suburbs of the city. The total land area is 6 square kilometers. It is located in the hinterland of the Dongyangjiang Plain, bordering Beijiang Town to the east, the suburbs to the west, Qingtai Mountain to the south, and Dongyangjiang River to the north. It used to belong to Badu, Xiaode Township; in 1929, it belonged to the Second District and was the seat of the district office; in 1932, it belonged to Lizhai Town. After 1949, it served as the Li Zhai District Office and the residence of Li Zhai Central People's Commune. It now belongs to Lizhai Town and is the seat of the town people's government. The village area is intended to be the political, economic, cultural center and transportation hub in the surrounding area of ??more than ten miles. It consists of 4 administrative villages. In 1992, the village had 1,118 households and 3,655 people. There are 2,068 acres of cultivated land, including 1,831 acres of farmland and 237 acres of land. Li Zhai is where a prominent Dongyang family named Li lives. The Li family is descended from Li Chun, Emperor Xianzong of the Tang Dynasty. He first lived in Longxi, then moved to Chenliu, Henan, and then moved to Muzhou, Zhejiang during the Five Dynasties. In the first year of Shaoxing in the Southern Song Dynasty (1131), it moved to Renli, Jiqingfang, South Gate, Dongyang.
In the second year of Xuande in the Ming Dynasty (1427), Li Yi'an occasionally rested under a locust tree and dreamed that the god gave him a lock, so he lived here. After the descendants became prosperous, it was renamed Li Zhai. It has been 577 years. Li's House is surrounded by Crab Creek to the east, Si Creek to the west, Longshan Mountain, Bijia Mountain and Ma'an Mountain to the south. The mountains are clear and the water is beautiful, making it a beautiful place. Li Zhai Huatai Gate is a key cultural relic protection unit in Dongyang City and was selected into the "Zhejiang Architecture Exhibition Album" compiled by the Zhejiang Provincial Architectural Association. It has three bays, with a large door in the middle. The first half of the building is decorated with wood carvings and paintings, the second half has a checkered ceiling, and the second room has double eaves and lattice doors and windows. There is a mountain screen wall in front of it, built with water-milled bricks. It is tall in shape, reasonable in structure, majestic in architecture, smooth in lines and magnificent in color. Li Zhai Village
In front of Huatai Gate is Guipo Street, with a clear crab stream flowing north along the street. Next to it is a 6,000-square-meter square, which is both a market trade center and an entertainment center in Lizhai Town. During the Lantern Festival, lanterns are decorated along the streets and golden dragons dance in the square, making it very lively. About 20 meters west of Huatai Gate is Wenchang Pavilion, and 10 meters further west is Toad Pond. The tall Shangshufang in the north of Yuetang was built in the Ming Dynasty by Li Datong, the sixth ancestor of the Dongyang Li family (official to the Minister of the Ministry of Industry), and Li Ximing, the eighth ancestor of the Dongyang Li family (official to the Minister of the Ministry of Justice). 20 meters to the north of Shangshufang is the Jiqing Hall (also known as the Hall), which is now a theater. Going north up the twelve steps is the Li Zhai Ancestral Hall, which was built during the Qianlong period of the Qing Dynasty. There is a plaque of famous Nandu ancestral hall. The eaves Douge has 11 gatehouses in front and 32 side rooms on the left and right. It is majestic and well preserved. Climbing fifteen steps from the back of the ancestral hall is the Jiujian Building, the three in the middle are called Yingtai Building, the three in the east are called Sande Hall, and the three in the west are called Simei Hall. They are the commanding heights of the whole village. During festivals, all the gates are opened, and the Dengying Terrace overlooks the Moon Pond through the double doors. Like a bright mirror, you can have a panoramic view of the grandeur of the undulating pavilions, terraces, buildings, and pavilions in the village. To the southwest from Yuetang, there is a stone lion gate with a plaque of the Hou Bo family, which was erected in the Song Dynasty when Li Chengzhi was granted the title of Zhengjie Hou and Li Dayou was granted the title of the founding uncle of Jinhua. In addition, there are more than 50 large and small halls, ancestral halls, pavilions and platforms, forming a majestic ancient building complex. It is commonly known as five steps, one floor, ten steps and one pavilion, and is famous throughout the country.
Li Zhai’s traditional cultural and entertainment activities have always been very active. In 1926, it was even more grand and grand to celebrate the 500th anniversary of the ancestor Bu's residence in Li's house. All major streets and public places are covered with canopies, lanterns are hung, and lotus lanterns are placed on the moon pond. The lotus lanterns are tied on wooden boards, and live turtles are tied below to let them swim freely in the water. They are commonly known as turtles. The lamps are wonderful and unique, causing a sensation inside and outside the county. During the Lantern Festival in 1983, lotus lanterns were put on the moon pond again. Famous poets Tian Jian and Ye Xiaoshan, and young writer Zhang Kangkang came to visit and wrote poems to praise it. During the National Day in 1984, Li Zhai's lotus lanterns were exhibited at the West Lake Lantern Festival in Hangzhou and participated in the Sino-Japanese Youth Gala, which won high praise from Chinese and foreign guests and was reported by Zhejiang Daily and Hangzhou Daily.
