In Sima Qian's masterpiece Historical Records, there is only one sentence about Yu Ji: a good name is in danger. In such a sentence, we don't even know Yu Ji's real name, her date of birth and hometown, when she met Xiang Yu, and so on. Yu Ji suddenly disappeared into the history books like disappearing into the air.
Yu Ji, the most admired and admired concubine, committed suicide and died only in folklore and unofficial history. There is no record of this heroic moment in official history.
There is actually another saying about Yu Ji's death, that is, she did not commit suicide, but was killed by Xiang Yu, who loved her deeply. In the entry of "Zhongli County, Haozhou" in a geographical chronicle of Taiping Universe in the Northern Song Dynasty.
